He hasn’t looked good since the split, he just continuously looks worse and worse every time out.

If there was a difference, it was that Wilder finished on his feat.
But his protests were violent at the fight being stopped, and he was a warrior who wanted to go out on his shield, as ALL the greats would prefer.
That, in sharp contrast to Co-claimant Joshua, who simply acquiesced when he suffered HIS first loss. The ref looked at him carefully, and Josh had nothing but quit in him; leading the ref to rule the stoppage, marking the primary difference between the two fighters, and the thing that leads many to beleive that had they fought in their respective prime, Wilder's higher level of courage would have made the difference.Comment

Wilder is simply limited.
He stepped up a level and got found out.
Its his feet mainly. He can't position himself to find the shots. He's got away with it with poorer opposition because they make mistakes.
Now he has no confidence in his chin either, so he hesitates to commit too.
If he was younger, maybe a coach could work on his with his movement and positioning, but it's a little late now, and Breland certainly didn't help it with it anyway.Comment
