In 25 years time, people will still be talking about the 12th round of Fury-Wilder 1.
Yes to speak highly of Fury and how he got up to win, not so much wilder. He will be what you call a footnote. Basically Michael grant although grant probably has a better resume in reality. Grant took a shot against an elite and got steamrolled then fell off while wilder waited waited waited for his chance and then got steamrolled and then fell off

All those seem subjective no? He has a 25% ko ratio agaisnt top 10 opponents so that doesn't scream elite power. to me. Timing and focus? He seemed to struggle timing good fighters. Ngannou has elite timing too? Don't think so. Focus? What is he focused on? Getting outboxed and focusing on the ko so much he forgets to do anything to win? Yeah I would agree that he was entirely focused on kos and not boxing smart

He'll at least be on the ballot for HOF and probably elected. Is Michael Grant? I don't think so - maybe he is, but doubt it.

I totally agree that he wasn't an elite boxer - although not bad either - he had an ok jab and a decent left hook.
on your point about focusing - yes, the mental tenacity to stay focused for a split second opportunity when youre being out-boxed does indeed indicate great focus or concentration if you like. And as he always said - he only has to be 'perfect' - meaning combining focus, timing and power - for a second. The times he swung an missed are not what he will ever be judged on.

Yes but isn't that a testament to his marketing? I mean tesla makes lots of money and is popular but makes shi-t cars and has shi-t fsd compared to others. We should at least try to make the Hall of Fame better if possible and he's not close.

Isn't that just narcissism? I mean it's not true. We know it's not true. The stats tell us its not true. I only have to hit my opponent once and I win...personality disorders at work.

we have all seen these people throughout our lives. Sometimes they are propped up with massive wealth(musk, trumf) or have powerful backing(pbc) but in reality they are Extremely untalented but they carry the biggest egos telling you how great they are.

When put to the test they fail because they lack the fundamental skill which makes people better, self actualization. I'm already great I will just win. Im great i will do it my way...

All I need is 1 punch...my power is so great no one can survive...then reality hits and that's when the spin and propaganda take over.

He'll get in - because those who choose have different evaluations than yours. The HOF is watered down now but still only the 'best' get in

haha - massive digression - but top marks for philosophy lesson and managing to bracket Wilder, Trump and Musk. Musk may be autistic, he may be odious but he must have something about him to have arrived where he is.

Having a supreme confidence in your own ability is a prerequisite for a a successful athlete. Elite soccer players demand the ball from lesser players because they believe they can make something 'happen' ie score or get a shot in. This works for a while as you point out. Actually it works for most of their career until they become diminished. Cristian Ronaldo demanding to take all of Portugal's free kicks in recent tournaments is a prime example. Still, it worked for a long time for Trump, Musk, Wilder and Ronaldo.

Of couse Deontay Wilder deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. And take it from me, he's getting in.

                    The statistics bear this out.

So is Tyson Fury, so is Oleksandr Usyk.

Parker and Dubois both have a shot, but they are a W.I.P.
