  • Who else ENJOYED the Canelo/Crawford face off (NO Diddy)?

2 ELITE p4p fighters eyeing each other up like lions in the jungle just before they fight. It's difficult to predict a winner but what struck me most was how powerful and poised each fighter looked. They KNOW they've already achieved everything there is in the sport between them from conquering multiple weight classes, p4p #1, undisputed championships and have nothing left to prove.

This wasn't your typical run of the mill face off.

This is a bigger mismatch then Canelo Charlo, not buying the hype.

This the more i think about it the more it will be an easy win for canelo

crawford will fight to survive. once he feels canelos power and strength and lands a good shot of his own that has no effect on canelo's iron chin then he will be discouraged.

His last fight could have been a draw or loss and that was two divisions lower

I think you guys are underrating Crawford...if anybody can do it it's HIM as he always seems to find a way to win. Obviously it all depends on how he handles Canelo's power but Canelo is not the fighter he once was plus he didn't look too great in his last fight either.

It was up there with Sugar Ray Leonard vs Tommy Hearns as far as bad ass face-offs go.

I'm getting more and more stoked as the fight nears

Same...I was already amped but the face off just made my boner peak a little bit further! Seriously though, Canelo has schooled some tough young guns lately like Berlanga, Munguia etc and you have to admire Crawford's BALLS for jumping up 2 weight classes.

I enjoyed it. Very cordial for the most part but I like the little jabs from Bud and Nelo.

I kind of roll my eyes whenever I see Ring Magazine owner Rick Reeno. He looks like a parking lot owner, dressed either as a golfer (like last night) or like a RUN DMC reject, who’s so unnecessarily extra wearing white gloves any time he has to whip out that custom made RING magazine belt when promoting this fight.

Like, dude…we get it. But no, he has to brag about how much there’s been spent on the belt and why it’s important. Dude, stop.

I’m glad the fight’s large…but at the same time what comes with it is a bunch of people making decisions about the entire process who rarely have a hand in the business.

I like seeing Rosie Perez as a fan ringside…just…not as a commentator nor when they try to shoehorn in celebrities (who probably ARE fans) as blow by blow or color commentary.

It’s kind of like how they randomly dropped Nate Campbell and Ray Mancini in to the broadcast of Adrien Broner’s PPV bout by Don King.

                  Just…please stop.

Get Lampley in there, he was great in New York.

Get Kellerman probably in there. I like Larry Merchant, but he’s waaaaaaaaaaayyy too old to be ringside at this point.

Just put in any mix of Lampley, Kellerman, Roy Jones, Tarver, and Bernstein.

                  That would be perfect.

That’s true. Off the top of my head:

                    Trinidad/De La Hoya
                    Jones/Toney
                    Mayweather/De La Hoya
                    Mayweather/Pacquiao
Tyson/Paul didn’t do boxing any favors, though anybody who’s been around boxing knew this was going to be one-sided from the start.

I feel though the standards are abnormally high for hyped up fights, though. People will complain if it’s either:

                    a-) one-sided
                    b-) doesn’t end in a knockout

Nobody ever complains about Mayweather/McGregor even though that would’ve been in list had Mayweather gone the distance.
