Record vs world title winning opposition:
W vs Jose Sanabria UD 12
W vs Tracy Harris Peterson UD 12 (reigning titlist)
W vs Tracy Harris Peterson UD 12
W vs Calvin Grove RTD 7
W vs Gabriel Ruelas TKO 5
W vs Joey Gamache KO 2
L vs Oscar De La Hoya TKO 5
W vs Terron Millet TKO 4
W vs Leonard Doroftei KO 2
W vs Jesse James Leija KO 5
L vs Floyd Mayweather RTD 7
L vs Carlos Baldomir TKO 9
Sanabria, Grove, Gamache, and Leija were way past it but he has some good names on his resume regardless and the Ward trilogy was legendary. I don't care that Ward was a fringe contender, those were incredible fights and I'll watch them anytime they're on TV.
He's a fringe case for the HOF, I wouldn't be mad if he didn't get in. But I'm not mad that they let him in either. There are worse guys in there and there will be more.Comment

I was at Gatti/Ward 2, Gatti/Leija and Gatti/Dorin...Thunder beat some pretty decent opponents, always entertained and put thousands of asses in seats.
Because half the judges are on the take
It comes down to getting votes and who’s your backing
Gatti , may have not been the superstar and the most victorious but he was must see tv for a few years and lit up AC like no other
The Boardwalk Hall will always be Gatti’s home away from home
Just to be clear , I think Forrest is deserving of HoF
You're right about him lighting up Atlantic City. I don't have an issue with him being in the HoF one way or the other but he accomplished quite a bit and energized the sport regardless of talent or resume. HBO chose to air his fights on the regular forms reason....Comment
