  • Interim cringe

In part inspired by famicommander's thread let's use this thread to collate and mock the remainder of the year's sanctioning body cringe. It will mostly involve all the illiterately named 'interim' belts like Nonito - Campos but can be for bogus mandatories, strippings and other cringe decisions/belts too.

The corrupt families/crooks who run these organisations deserve mockery, not respect. The less seriously they're taken the better chance we have of getting rid of them.

The guy Mbilli fought for his 'interim' wasn't even TBRB top ten. I guess the plan will be for him to sit on it until Canelo retires so he can be emailed the full belt. No way his mandatory position is ever enforced.

The WBA sanctioned Batyrgaziev - ****ens for an 'interim' belt. They will probably have one in every division again soon.

As well as recognising an 'interim' belt holder in the joke bridgerweight division, the WBA have also created another 'regular' belt at strawweight. What's frustrating is that with a properly functioning boxing media I think this corrupt organisation could be brought down (FYI kafkod)

The third bout confirmed for Thursday is a WBA regular strawweight title fight between Japanese contenders Yuni Takada, 16-8-3 (6 KOs), and Ryusei Matsumoto, 6-0 (4 KOs).
Naoya Inoue-Murodjon Akhmadaeliev confirmed for Nagoya, Japan

Those sanctioning bodies have been a boil on Boxing's ass for over 60 years now, and it's gotten worse by the decade, with more of them popping up all the time, and half a dozen more operating, just waiting for media acceptance.

It's impossible to say definitively which is the worst, but my quick vote goes to the esteemed WBA, Gilberto Mendoza's Panama City flesh pimpers.
Presently, Lenier Pero, Deontae Pettigrew, Nelson Hysa, David Allen and the forever man Manual Charr all occupy a slot in their top ten.

          Nothing wrong about that.

With the news about Gervonta Davis, how long until the WBA sanctions an 'interim' belt at lightweight?

The 'interim' belt is a poison chalice. Accepting it most of the time means you're waiting for the email belt rather than an opportunity to fight the full belt holder.

Slap on the wrist for Rodriguez and rematch ordered for another 'interim' cringe belt. How about ordering Teraji - Yafai instead?
