The first time Holm was ordered to defend her welterweight titles against Braekhus she left the weight class, and the second time she vacated her belts and retired despite Braekhus agreeing to fight her in the US for what would have been the biggest purse of Holm's boxing career (Holm didn't see a check that big until her first title defense after knocking out Rousey in UFC).

Braekhus has been chasing her since 2007/2008.
