Wardley was at least honest. He doesn't see what he gains from a rematch. Fair enough.
It would take some serious whining from Huni to generate the interest in this rematch. He just seems like he's a bit too decent a bloke to really do that. -
To be fair...Huni has nothing to gain either. Wardley can't beat Huni except for the hail mary. .and its not often lightning strikes twice. For all the talk of it only taking one shot in heavyweight boxing....its true but rare. Huni is too early in his career to look at a fight as revenge when he knows most everybody sees him as miles ahead of Wardley regardless the fights outcome. Huni should move onward and upward....and Wardley should milk the veterans at home. He can do Whyte, Chisora and Joyce....maybe even Dave Allen. Its all cash in the bank in winnable fights.Comment

No way Wardley takes this. Why would he rematch guy that was outboxing his ears off?
To be honest, Huni should just move on from here. Fight somebody like Wallin, Makhmudov as a comeback fight, win, than move on.
Wardley is not some top sh.it guy and Huni is 26 years old. i believe Huni will make a bigger career than Wardley in division.

He should have moved around and run out the clock. There was no need for him to engage and square up by that time. He already had the fight won. The fight wasn’t even close. He blew it. I’m sorry but there no consolation prizes in boxing.Comment

He doesn't need a rematch.
He needs a proper promoter - someone who won't be too cheap to pay for his development fights.Comment

To be fair, it was him staying on the offensive that had made Wardley so ineffective for 9 rounds.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. There's every chance that moving around and trying to run the clock out might have put Wardley on the front foot in a fight where he hadn't earned that position.
The mistake was over committing and coming at Wardley square on. He hadn't made a mistake like that before and he's probably learned a very good lesson. These guys are always dangerous.Comment

Huni surprised me , he's a lot more of a talented boxer than I thought he was before this fight. Granted , he wasn't exactly in there against Muhammad Ali , but his footwork and handspeed were a lot better than I thought that they would be. He was winning handily , until he wasn't. He's still got a future in the sport and could conceivably luck into a title shot or title someday .
If I were managing Wardley , I wouldn't make a rematch.Comment

There were heavy rumours that Huni couldn't hold a shot leading into this fight, wardley landed only one really clean punch and it put Huni down, additionally Huni was super accurate on Wardley but never really buzzed him at all
Very limited power and a fragile chin is not a good combination in boxing, Wardley being so slow made Huni look good but anyone quicker than Wardley who can punch will ko Huni easier than Wardley did.
Skills are good but Huni doesn't have the physicality to be a success at heavyweight, he's like a heavyweight Michael Conlan
People saying Huni is a level above the guy who just ko'd him is a madness to me, boxing isn't just about skills, it's about physicality as well.
Huni has the skills but not the physicality
Wardley has the physicality but not the skills

Why are people saying neither has anything to gain?
There's been tons of threads about it here and even American channels are reporting on what started as a domestic level dust up.
The fight is huge now. It'll happen if they both want it... The question is does either really want it?Comment
