Humi didn't look ready to continue by 10 to me, but if the ref had taken a few seconds to check him out before making his decision, he might have recovered enough.

Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 other fights where a fighter was decked and got up at nine-and-a-bit, all HW fights: Fury vs Wilder 1, Ref allowed Fury to fight on. Scott vs Chisora, ref waved it off. Dubois vs Usyk, ref waved it off.

Ready to continue fighting is a judgement call by the ref. So the ref acted within the rules by waving Huni out. I can't see an appeal going anywhere.
The appeal won't go anywhere, you're right.

Boxing rules are a funny thing. We act like they're cast in stone but we know that they're really not. A ten count isn't necessarily ten seconds and 'being ready to continue' is a very subjective term which is down to the referee's judgement.

Context always comes into it. I'm sure the assessment for Fury against Wilder was that he deserved the opportunity to show he could continue given he'd been the better fighter. Dubois on the other hand was a beaten man even before he hit the deck.

The point here is that the referee seemed very keen to not show judgement. He didn't need a second or two to process the information and make a decision - he was very clear about what he needed to do in that situation. Count with urgency, and call the fight the moment that you have the chance.

As I've said before, at that point my money would have been on Wardley finishing him anyway. Huni was hurt and Wardley doesn't mess around, but the referee's actions do highlight what goes on in this sport. Fights don't get fixed, but judges and referees definitely sway in certain directions.

Terrible ref who was desperate to give Wardley the win, that being said, with the time left, Huni still groggy, and Wardley's power, it was only going to go one way. He didn't look well recovered at all and likely would have been a sitting duck. Nash out - His Majesty

Some people really want fighters to take an absolute free shot when already concussed.

        We aren't taking them

Moot point anyway... wardley is a spiteful, violent finisher. Even when Huni got up he was not all there, wardley would've obliterated him with the next flush right hand that landed within the following 20 seconds.
