Some guys at work watches Ryan and canelo and then UFC this weekend

Boxing was a ***ing embarrassment. Only teo acted like he even wanted to be there. UFC was 1000x times more entertaining. Boxing has been my sport for 25 years but when it stinks it really stinks. No wonder UFC is more main******

Nelo will rightfully be a unanimous 1st ballot HOFer the moment he retires.
      Mentioned among ATGs
Even with Scull on his resume, his is the best active resume.

Has Canelo ever crossed over? I don't think non boxing fans know who he is.

Same goes for Crawford. He's appearing at a local shopping centre around the corner from me in Melbourne in a fortnight. The event has two likes on Facebook. No-one cares.

I'm not sure boxing really has a face. How can you have a face when it's behind a paywall?

          Ok, again.
If not Nelo, who, and why isn't that guy the face ?

IMO it isn’t like Usyk that is going to different countries selling out huge stadiums and arenas whoever he fights.
Usyk ain't selling out stadiums. It just looks that way. He's been the B side to Joshua and fury 4 times. They were the draw.

Step outside and ask who's the heavyweight champion of the world. you wont find 1 person that knows.

I dont know if he ever really was the face of boxing internationally. Definitely in America but I feel like AJ, Fury and in more recent years Usyk were much bigger in Europe at least. Its not like the days of Floyd and Pac where they were clearly the two biggest boxing stars everywhere on the planet.

Regardless, they're all in the twilight of their careers and so far there isnt anyone on their level of star power to replace them when they're gone.

I actually hate that notion as well. As if one fighter represents the entire sport. What then is the meaning behind that? That when he fights, we MUST tune in because this is boxing? F that. I know there are casuals and perhaps that is the way they think, but there is so much missed if you think this is the only guy worth tuning into. In fact, if I was them, I'd be sick of the sport by now because he's put on mediocre fight after mediocre fight for like this last 5 fights.

For me, boxing is healthier when you have multiple stars doing their thing and constantly. We should not have to wait for that 1 guy maybe once or twice a year to get interested. There should be more stars and fighting more often and perhaps not altogether so that boxing doesn't "shoot its load" all at once and the rest of the year sucks.

I initially though how amazing the weekend was going to be when you had Ryan, Teofimo, Canelo and Inoue all fighting on the same weekend. Big mistake. Inoue was the only one whose star status rose and if you enjoyed the likes of Ryan, Teofimo or Canelo, you probably thought you don't care to see them fight again anytime soon.

                      Ok
Glad to know not worth complaining about since there is no other guy worthy of the moniker
