I agree OP, I made a thread about it not too many people refuted it because its a hard pill to swallow even if you didn't score if for Scull but you know you can see how I came to that conclusion.

Didn't one Judge score it 115-113? So atleast one judge kinda agreed with you. If I didn't have a 25 leg parley to hit. I maybe could see this fight being a draw, both of them didn't do anything. Lara definitely should had gotten a draw.

But thank God canelo won and my parley lives on.

an opponent has no responsibility to make himself hittable. and it's not against the rules to utilize every inch of the ring.

the guy who looked a pure mess and utterly confused was Canelo. he couldn't figure this guy out after a few rounds? he couldn't cut the ring with a chainsaw.

Canelo was outboxed and made to look like an amateur. any boxer with two brain cells would cut the ring, set traps and knock this guy out.

the one who should be getting the ridicule is Canelo. you fight a guy who you already know is gonna move and box. and yet you come in with zero strategy to stop that?

he claims he wants guys who simply stand in front of him and exchange... yet he's ducking Benavidez like dracula ducks the sun.

Canelo is all smoke and mirrors and Crawford is gonna knock him out. and retire him. good riddance.

You are not alone or wrong in your assessment. Many boxing fans and experts alike have expressed the same sentiment as you. That William Scull had indeed won that fight.

Many believed that William Scull either just barely nudged it by a single point or perhaps a round or two. While others believed that it should have been scored a Draw but none of them had Saul Canelo Alvarez winning the fight.

This was coming all the way from Teddy Atlas to Amir Khan. They both saw a William Scull victory.

                  Lol complete troll post

                  Scoring criteria

                  Ring generalship
                  Effective aggression
                  Defense
                  Clean punches

Scull did NONE of those and lost every round.

Constantly running so that you're always out of range doesn't even get you defense points. Thats for defense in range.

I can’t understand people that actually think Scull won last Saturday.

I heard an interview with Eddie Hearn that he was sitting next to Crawford ringside for Canelo-Scull and he was chatting it up with him and Crawford said he had Scull up during the fight. He didn’t specify up until when (or if Crawford had him winning), but I also was listening to a live reaction of some boxing heads on YouTube (Tha Boxing Voice) and they were watching it the whole time saying that Scull was taking the straps and that he was winning.

                    I’m sorry…what?

Lara has a Cuban style as well but he at least stood his ground occasionally and landed meaningful punches hence the reason why a segment of fans think he won, and it was a split decision win for Canelo. Even Rigondeaux who’s been known to stink out the joint Occasionally was a VERY sharp puncher and counter-puncher. Scull shat the bed. With that performance…he’s going the way of Joshua Clottey after the Pacquiao fight…never ever ever on a televised fight ever again.

But Scull was terrible. Canelo was at least pushing the fight, and his punches were actually more meaningful than Scull’s. If Canelo doesn’t press, there is no fight.

Even Ajagba who moved around a lot still planted his feet occasionally and scored something eye-catching.

That fight was as if Scull watched the last three rounds of De La Hoya-Trinidad, somebody on his team went, “Bet you can’t do that for the full twelve.” and Scull said, “Hold my beer.”

I love Teddy but sometimes he has some hot takes. If I bent over backwards and gave rounds to Scull…the absolute best he’s doing is five rounds. How anyone would get to anything beyond that is asinine. And I’m not saying Canelo had a masterful performance either. Just saying what a ****show it would be if Scull had walked with all the belts after such a performance.

The equivalent of turning in an assignment where the criteria states certain milestones to be achieved and in every category he’s done 1 below the bare minimum and he’s looking to skate with a 69.5% C grade.
