It was a good and close fight but I thought Efe Ajagba won. However, I don’t have problem with the official judges scorecards because both fighters gave as good as they got.

I imagine he spent a lot of money and enjoyed himself just a little too long after the ko loss
If they rematch and Bakole realises he needs to do a full grind i could see him dominating Ajagba in a rematchLast edited by BlackRobb; 05-10-2025, 07:08 AM.JakeTheBoxer likes this.

By how Billy Nelson has been speaking? It seems like Martin Bakole is content with his achievements in the sport. Considering in what state his career was in when he started being coached by Nelson. Martin Bakole has come a very long way, with the talent and lack of work ethic he has as a fighter. So both Nelson and Bakole deserve credit at least for his current position in the game'.
What I always found amusing, was the way? Certain sections of the boxing media, tried their up most best to promote Bakole as some sort of prospect in the sport 'When in reality? He has already been beaten before by Michael Hunter, when he was arguable in better overall condition than he is now. Martin Bakole is basically a fighter from the same generation as Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, and he was competing while they were both premier champions in the sport'.
Many people put down Martin Bakole's loss to Joseph Parker due to his conditioning 'And taking the fight at very short notice. Yes those were factors in why he lost, but he also lost because skill for skill Bakole is not a World or a Elite level fighter. Bakole is a crude, aggressive, very strong game fighter. That is it'.
The only reason in my opinion why he has been making a impact of late in the Heavyweight Division, is because? The Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder Heavyweight era has been in its later stages. Which has given a chance for all the Heavyweights below those fighters, to suddenly start getting more lime light and coverage from the boxing media'.
Note: In reality when Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Uysk all retire for certain 'The Heavyweight Division will have a big void, where they once resided as fighters. The Heavyweight Division without those fighters is quite similar to the Heavyweight Division in the years after Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson's official retirements. Back then you still had Evander Holyfield competing but, he was miles outside of his peak. All the fighters who where below Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield for many years, attempted to lead the sport. There was some great fights, such as Hasim Rahman vs Oleg Maskaev I & II. And I also think the Evander Holyfield vs John Ruiz I, II, III Trilogy was underrated, and one of the last great feats achieved by Holyfield. But really the Heavyweight Division had clearly during the aftermath of the 90's, decreased in skill level and overall ability'.
To conclude: Martin Bakole I have never rated him as prospect, and? I would not even compare him to fighters such as Hasim Rahman, Oleg Maskeav, Chris Bryd, David Tua, John Ruiz and many more 'In reality Daniel Dubois is only really at the level of those fighters I have just mentioned, in terms of a side by side comparison and overall historical significance to the Heavyweight Division'.
I have seen of late that Anthony Joshua has stated that he aims to fight later in the year 'If Joshua is in solid form, and robust. I think he can smash up both Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba. The most difficult of those fights would be against Ajagba, due to him skill for skill clearly being a better fighter than Bakole' etc.
