loma definitely beat haney. that was so terrible. they thought he was going to be the next mayweather so they gifted him the fight that loma clearly won 9-3. in reality hes just not a top level guy losing to ryan garcia who also su-cks. haneys resume is kambosos and prograis? yikes. teofimo is actually good and it was a 7-5 win for him

That's true. It was not just one bad plan, but sort of the beginning of the end. And yes, as a fan, it was def the most frustrating 6 rounds I ever watched.

          That’s your opinion.

There are posters on this very thread giving Teofimo the first seven rounds, not just the first six.

Loma literally gave away 6 of the 1st 7 rds.
And did not sweep the 2nd half.
No way did Loma pull off a comeback.

Loma fanboys thinking enough time has passed that they can rewrite history. The best he could hope for was a draw after giving away the first half of the fight, but he only won 4 rounds in the second half. He was unlucky against Salido and Haney, an argument can be made for those fights but definitely not against Teo, and he only has himself to blame for that.

Close fight but clearly Teo won this fight. Out of all Loma's losses this is the one you really can't argue.

What kind of a BS thread is this?

I watched this fight a couple years ago and scored it. Til this day, by far and away Lopez’s best win considering who Loma was and how dominant (Teo) looked in this fight as a baby-faced 22 or 23 year old.

Teo was just stronger and more accurate. Loma barely did anything effective in the first half. He did better in the final stretch of the fight but there were barely any swing rounds and Teo had banked so much already that it was a moot point to try and simply out point Teo by the end.

I thought of this fight and Chris Algieri mentioned in his podcast last night: maybe it was the bubble and the COVID circumstances (small crowd) that played a part when this fight happened, maybe it was the fact that Teo was always a much more naturally bigger fighter (who’s also a freak athlete), Loma was not as busy.

Whatever the case may be, by the end it felt like a 9-3ish or a clear 8-4 affair. 7-5 Teofimo if you bent over backwards to give rounds to Loma.

LOMA DID NOT WIN THE FIGHT.

That’s like saying you somehow found a way to give Bradley a draw in his first fight with Pacquiao. Nah, bro. Absolutely not. And I love Bradley…but the best he did (as a diehard Bradley fan) was win 5 rounds AT BEST (and somehow the judges found 7 rounds to give him.

Loma has a case for winning the Devin fight (even though I thought he lost), but not the Teo fight. Not a chance in hell.

This thread feels as wacky as my social media feed the day after Canelo-Cotto where a bunch of casual fans here in Puerto Rico were saying that Cotto outboxed Canelo. Jesus Christ…

How do the same people score Maidana Mayweather 1 given that Maidana did more damage to Floyd in the first 3 rounds than Lopez did the entire fight (to Loma) !

Fights are judged round by round, not based on damage.
