If he was fighting for $150K where is the figure of $1M in Japan coming from? What is the source? Or is it just a hypothetical figure to make an argument more plausible?

I’ve yet to see ANY articles mentioning his purse would be anywhere close to $1 million and I seriously doubt it’s even half that.

Neither Sasiki or Norman are draws.
Sasiki is no Inoue, he can not provide million dollar purses to American fighters that nobody in America has heard of let alone in Japan.

Norman will be lucky if he makes $250k for this fight but hey at least he’s no longer in an undercard!

Option 1) Fight Boots immediately for 1.7 mil and lose his belt and never see daylight again

Option 2) Fight a chump change 150k for a victory lap defense in America, followed by over $1 mil for a voluntary defense in Japan against a guy significantly easier than Boots and very likely keeping his belt, fight a mando here and there for chump change until Boots is willing to up the offer and get a total of over 3 mil for losing the belt and then never see daylight again.

Option 3) Fight a chump change 150k for a victory lap defense in America, followed by over $1 mil for a voluntary defense in Japan against a guy significantly easier than Boots and very likely keeping his belt, fight a mando here and there for chump change until Boots vacates the belt and then fight others in easy unifications to earn more than 1.7 mil and stay a "champion" long term.

Right now he's at option 2 or 3. Despite what Eddie wants to say, everyone knows if Boots is really desperate for going undisputed, I'm sure he'll cave to Norman's counter and offer over 2mil especially if that is the last belt left given that he caved for Stanionis as well and Norman definitely knows it. Now if Norman loses to Sasaki...well, he lost his bet but the % is certainly in his favor.
I feel like it’s more so business than a duck, for one boots himself went from making 200k last yr to 2mil the same thing Norman wanted, even tho Eddie say he losing money on boots fights ppl like him so he worth it according to them.. but Tom Norman perspective he arguably had the best win of any of the welter champs stopping santillan, he got offered the least of the 3, and was the only one who they wanted to bring o Philly..

for them it’s probably like it took you until 27 to get a belt you can’t really make weight, they 23 all the big money fights are on the way he got more leverage than boots really if he wants that belt..

Multiple Japanese articles that spilled the rumors and such all mentioned 1mil plus dollars as the cost.

Bluntly put, people know the only reason an American belt holder would ever travel to Japan to defend against a Japanese challenger is if the cash is significantly better by a lot. I mean Moloney made over a million defending against Takei. Ohashi is known to use the cash he earns from Inoue to his other cards as well to get foreign champions to travel over, so I'm not surprised. He notoriously overpays with the power of Inoue's sponsors.

No, I won’t let you get away with that.

Boots wanted to fight Norman and his promoter sent over a very good offer. Norman quacked by pricing himself out.

In my own definition of "ducking", both guys need to be in the same division. Otherwise, it's just speculation. You know who's actually avoiding Vergil? Fundora. There's no good reason to continue delaying that match-up.

Crawf literally made an offer to Bootsy and he turned it down. His Daddy is on video confir.ing they turned Crawf down, who went on to fight Avenasyn
