I understand why Bivol v Beterbiev 3 is under consideration and why , if Bivol defends against any other man it will probably be Benavidez, but that does leave a queue outside the block of decent contenders including Yarde.
Yarde v Smith looks the best fight out
There so hope it can happen.

I think Yardes career is done. He had his opportunities. Bad business and couldn't dig deep when he needed too.

I think this is more compelling than the headliner. Second fiddle to second fiddles.

I disagree. He gave kovalev and beterbiev arguably their toughest fights. He just came up short but he made them work for it

In life, you get these crossroad moments where things can go one way or another. Yarde's moment was the Kovalev fight. He was doing good, and headed for victory, and then it all went south. Had he won that fight, I believe his career would have played out totally differently.

that power jab Kovalev put Buff Guy Yarde out with was a thing of beauty

Buff Guy Yarde does not have the best luck against Russian punchers

he dished out lots of punishment on Tiger Paw Artur too then got knocked out himself again

                  Frfr.

Composure went when he was in the ascendency, game-planned his way to the brink of a knockout & then abandoned everything that got him there by excitedly going head-hunting when all he needed to do was relax smh.

Another example where indecision means that the fight everyone really wanted to see against Buatsi is now severely damaged.
