I did not see anything from Beneviedez in his two fights at LHW that would give Bivol problems. Sure, he has a title now, but he was probably better off staying at SMW and waiting for Canelo as opposed to just having titles handed to him.Comment

Slowly but surely over the last few years, I had to change my mind and accept that he is one of the very best in the business today. This shift for me probably started with the Canelo fight. The way Bivol spanked him was unbelievable. The way he dominated Canelo and did what a famous destroyer like GGG could not do was shocking to me. I usually like Beterbiev (or GGG) type of fighters who destroy everyone in their path, but watching them fight twice I had to admit that Bivol is very, very good and like many observers I believe he won both fights without any controversy. I think he will outbox Benavidez as well.Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-21-2025, 03:03 PM.Comment

loved to party even 1st met who would become his wife at the club
coke use could indicate issues with discipline in the long run
but he doesn't have the Pernell talent to be coked up and outboxing foos

ideally coming from fast hands
Mexican David has a good spear jab but is that enough
Artur had the right hand to nail Bivol with some hard counters. Bivol sometimes keeps his head centered during the 1-2
Like Alvarez Benavidez applies pressure with slow feet and a high guard. I believe Bivol would be a handful for Benavidez
But Alvarez has the better right hand. Benavidez is an upstairs lead hook spammer Bivol doesn't get hit with these
I'd pick Bivol's jab, defense, chin, and fast straight shots over all of them: Artur Benavidez Morrell JaiLast edited by SouthpawRight; 04-21-2025, 03:12 PM.Comment

Bivol will fight him. A guy who fights Canelo in his prime and then fights Beterbiev twice is not scared on anyone. I think Bivol beats him just like he beat Canelo and Beterbiev (yes I think he beat him twice). I must say that for a long time I did not appreciate Bivol's skills or his toughness. I saw him as a pure boxer who was boring and avoided the limelight because he did not believe in himself.

I think Canelo being over there really seals the deal with David. David is going to have to make a name for him self beating up on bums or taking a one sided fight at an higher weight that might not be in his favor ( like Crawford).

According to pure UNBIASED (HA!) fight fans, EVERYONE is on roids.
So, going by that warped logic, EVERY fight is fair.

I personally see Benavidez giving Bivol a very difficult fight from the sense that for the first time Bivol will really have somebody continuously attacking his body. Bivol showed (in the first fight with Beterbiev) he was light on his feet against pressure until Beterbiev's body punching began to pay dividends in the back end of the fight causing him to slow and take punishment. Beterbiev doesn't throw anywhere near as many body punches as Benavidez does so failing an early KO for Bivol he is almost certainly going to be on the receiving end of copious body shots which will eventually open his guard for head attacks.Comment
