Pretty sure he almost died like twice trying to make 147. Guys grow out the weight and he was one of them unfortunately. If boots can't get a another title fight at 147 he should head up to 154lbs himself, there are fun fights for him there

Then they need to get right down to it. I say that because ever since, the Ennis/Stanionis unification bout; Brian Norman, Sr has been recently quoted that both him and his son want that fight next. Well if that is certainly the case. Then I cannot envision a single scenario why this fight shouldn't happen next.

my bet is that he told Ennis to say that, seen as Stantionis team said the pay wasn't right for a unification bout. But Stantionis said he told his team to accept it anyways.

I agree with everything you say ... it's just at that level warriors are not supposed to give up that easily. Boots was definitely HUGE which is why I think he will only meet his real challenge when he goes up in weight and starts fighting guys his own size.

Thomas Hearn was 6’1 and fighting at WW.
The great Sugar Ray Leonard is 5”10 and fought at WW.
Antonio Margarito is 5’11 and fought at WW.
Fundora is 6’5 and is at 154.
Ortiz was at WW and he’s 5’10 and 95% of his pro record is at WW.
How do you feel about all those guys I just listed off the top of my head? Some of them went on to fight at Light Heavyweight.

Surprisingly it turns out he just made out as the bigger winner by getting over $1mil from Sasaki for a voluntary defense that he is very likely to win and still have Boots unification for three belts available.

Whatever he gets from losing to unified Boots (at worst the same $1.7mil, likely more) in his third fight as a champion + $1mil from Sasaki in Japan while keeping the belt for his second defense + $150k from his first defense in US >>> $1.7mil from losing to Boots on first defense.

You have to fight the BIG FIGHTS! Vergil Ortiz Jr. is/was a BIG FIGHT! Stanionis was a Champion, but he doesn't even have 20 fights! Vergil would've been a MUCH better opponent!
