  • Its the Hearn approach I dont like. Low risk forever. If Hearn had Fundora and not Boots, we might see that fight. I think the tower steam rolls him.

Yes Ortiz did move to 154 because he couldn’t make 147. And it’s ok. Boots is a WW and makes 147 easy do he is staying at WW.
Boots will unify 147 this year and will find Ortiz at 154 probably next year. He will destroy Ortiz and I’m sure we’ll hear Ortiz lost because he’s been in wars.
Bozy just came out and said that it’s becoming harder and harder for Boots to make weight and rehydrate properly
Bozy continued by saying how he taught Boots to rehydrate properly but at the same time how a change might be beneficial
Hence why they’re coming out with a kind of ultimatum for Norman and Barrios ; step up or we’re moving up
Is it just a bogus threat ???

I did not know Bozy said that. Bozy looks like a difficult man to deal with (that’s just my opinion). If that is the case, the next immediate fight for 2025 for Boots should be Norman or Barrios.
Or he can just fight Barrios in July and get it over quickly and they aim for a unification with Norman in Saudi Arabia.
The truth is nobody cares about the Barrios fight but I understand the boxing path to HoF or ATG status needs “paperwork”.

All those fights are going to be hard to get done unless …..
If there’s any truth that PBC is working with Matchroom , then the Barrios fight should be quite easily to make
The Norman fight will need Saudi money to be made imo cause both guys will ask for big money

I just hope they all see that Barrios is just never going to beat Norman or Boots and make a deal quickly.
You are right about Norman vs Boots - egos will take center stage.

Norman was asking for $2.2 million now
I supposed Boots will be making double if not more
The fight could be an easy sell financially but it all depends what these guys want as pay

Yes. I still think Stanionis is a good fighter but Boots was better this time around. If Boot/Norman happens I will favor Boots again but consider Norman a live dog. I'll be watching...

                  • This whole "I'm not waiting on those guys" and "I'm having trouble making weight" is just negotiating tactics. He was talking about being set on going undisputed in 4 divisions just a few months ago, and he's using a nutritionist now, and looked strong and fine in this fight. Not like he's getting rhabdo like Ortiz and missing weight regularly. It's funny people are talking about sporty salaries, because first, it's a brand new e-rag with dubious connections, and second, the figure I saw for Norman v Cuevas was 250K guaranteed, and they said he was making 650K total (which seems even more dubious). That's in no way reliable, it was easy work and easy money, and Norman's likely going to have increased the value of his belt because he knows he's the most credible opponent left at 147. So it's not like he's going to settle for less than the previous offer, and will likely get more.

Especially now that Norman's got an offer for over $1mil for going to Japan to defend against Sasaki on what I consider an easy fight for Norman (although I'd certainly be happy if somehow Sasaki manages to win), so he definitely knows that he can wait out. He also knows Boots/Eddie only has himself, Barrios, or fight Giyasov for the mandatory with not much left in 147.
