I hate to bust your bubble but Floyd's first welterweight fight was against Sharmba Mitchell, a transplanted welterweight.

Without looking at boxrec he at least fought Zab, Baldymir @ welterweight before Hatton.

Zab and Hatton were transplanted welterweights, I would consider Baldymir a natural welterweight.

And Hatton was the 140lb champ who Floyd had move up lol

I would see Boots as being closer to Felix Trinidad than Floyd. Floyd was a slick boxer when he started out. Boots is more of an upgraded version of Felix than anything else. The problem that Boots has is that he is being avoided by everyone which is hard because no one can say that he beat Crawford or Spence or any of the big names to earn his welterweight titles. But Boots will start to carve his own path by fighting a real opponent this Saturday instead of some tomato can.

More like a downgraded version of Trinidad. Less power, less ambition and less accomplishments. By 27 Trinidad had been champ for 6 years, beaten a couple of hall of famers and was in the cusp of a major fight with Oscar. Boots is essentially still prospect level in terms of opposition.

How can Boots Ennis be on par or one up Floyd at welterweight, well he can start by 1. Making sure most of the opponents are in their prime and 2. Making sure the resume isn't a bunch of lightweights moving up.

Why tf does you guys have to scrutinize the same group of fighters and not others? Floyd, Boots, Shakur, Tank, Bud, Devin etc? Why not have years long debates about why Canelo had to bring up Jermell, Bud and Khan? What about Virgil trying to bring up a WW in Boots Ennis? You do know we can go through everyone's record and pick out a fight where they brought up a hot name from one division down because at the time it was a hot lucrative fight and we want to see the "best fight the best thooo".
