OK, a bit of hyperbole, but you get my point.
Floyd fought every worthy challenger he could.
    And Boots?
    Not so much.
I never liked Floyd and I always hoped somebody would beat him ... Diego, Oscar, Manny ... but nobody ever did (well in my opinion Oscar did but that is another story). At the end of his career I had to admit that he was an ATG and that his body of work was unparalleled in the modern boxing history. He beat so many champions and hall of famers that I am not sure who will ever equal that accomplishment.

To compare him to Boots at this point in Boots's career is beyond ridiculous. He has never beaten a single champion yet or a fighter in top 5. Maybe Stanionis will be the first but that is still light years away from Floyd.

Meanwhile El Mero's heroes like Ryan will be somewhere failing PED tests again and his other hero Virgil will claim that this time he has Quesadilla poisoning and move up to 160 when Boots comes for the belts at 154.

He doesn't really. Only in the fact that this is the first opponent that Boots will face that is even remotely compelling or may actually pose some threat (either actual or on paper). Even with that, Ennis is still a -700 favorite (as compared to Mayweather being a -135 favorite against Chico).

The article references Boots and Mayweather (specifically Floyd's fight with Gatti). My point is that when Mayweather fought Gatti, he had already established himself with big wins and tougher challenges than Gatti. Something that Boots has yet to do.

I can dig it. Stanionis isn't anything special, hence the odds. Matter of fact, 147 is weak af.

So why is it that you single him out at welter? You acknowledged that he started WW against Zab. For the rest of his career he fought all the top names at WW that the public wanted him to see. Yes you have the right to critize but dammit state you case and give us facts. Compare and contrast it to other WWs and turn us into beleivers.
No his first fight at ww was Sharmba Mitchell. A transplanted ww and most of his ww career was transplanted ww's (outside of Baldymir).

Speaking to Boots Ennis if he is looking to one up Floyd make sure your resume is natural wws mainly. Then you also want to fight mainly prime guys and he should get the respect he deserves in the process.

Fuuk Floyd it's Boots Ennis time now. Make every outing count
