But if you truly are a boxing fan you would know his first fight at welterweight was in 2007 when he knocked out Ricky Hatton.!

I hate to bust your bubble but Floyd's first welterweight fight was against Sharmba Mitchell, a transplanted welterweight.

Without looking at boxrec he at least fought Zab, Baldymir @ welterweight before Hatton.

Zab and Hatton were transplanted welterweights, I would consider Baldymir a natural welterweight.

I would see Boots as being closer to Felix Trinidad than Floyd. Floyd was a slick boxer when he started out. Boots is more of an upgraded version of Felix than anything else. The problem that Boots has is that he is being avoided by everyone which is hard because no one can say that he beat Crawford or Spence or any of the big names to earn his welterweight titles. But Boots will start to carve his own path by fighting a real opponent this Saturday instead of some tomato can.

If we are talking parallels to Mayweather, in order to get to a Gatti fight, one must have their Corrales fight. Boots hasn't had that.

Boots has yet to face off against someone that was an undefeated champion, an opponent that realistically had a chance, in the eyes of the fans and media, of defeating him. That's what Corrales was for Mayweather.

Is Stanionis that guy? Perhaps not, but it's the closest thing Boots has had this far to compare.

We all know what happened that January night I'm back in 2001. Floyd dominated Diego dropping him five times and stopping him in the 10th. Will we get the same dominant performance by Boots?
