Those minimum weights are not deep. That is why you have champs with very few fights and a lot of them have loses. They actually have to face each other because it is very slim pickings at that weight.

I am aware it's not the deepest division but this is probably the absolute worst opponent he could've selected without getting stripped of one of his belts. Almost all of Cano's opponents have a losing record, he has no world level victories, and he got a draw with a 5-10 fighter.

Collazo had mostly fought good competition prior to this one so hopefully it's just a one-off, but Cano is one of the worst fighters in recent memory to get a crack at a unified title. Even late replacements a week out have been more credible.
