Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez thinks 168lbs will be too much for Terence Crawford

Marquez, no stranger himself to going up in weight, doesn't like Crawford's move to super middleweight to challenge Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Nothing new lots think its a step too far, its not impossible as its been done before and so can be done again, that's what can happen if you try, its all too easy to do nothing and say cant do it, without trying.

I'll say this... A Crawford win would be the definition of Canelo being hoist by his own petard. I hope he pulls it off.

Marquez was great but he has been wrong before. He might be right about Crawford's power vs Canelo's.

it took Alvarez 6 rounds to ko no chin Amir who was coming up from 147

I believe TBud who has at least a decent chin and is going up from 154 can get to the final bell

My issue with this Crawford's jump in weight, is the fact the he moving up way too fast.

Older greats who succesfully moved up in the past, they did it in much slower pace and they were young when they did it. Crawford is jumping two weight class (more like three, since he only did one at 154) and is 38 years old.

I think Crawford might be stronger and bigger than most people think. I always found it odd seeing so many professional boxers around my height fighting at 147-160. When at the best shape of my life and going through bootcamp. I was still 170lbs ( lean ans mean). I think Crawford might surprise canelo when he can take some of his power. Now can he give it back over 12 rounds with out getting KO is the question. Lets get this fight signed already.

Canelo hasn't gotten a stoppage since 2021, and he might have been on Mexican tacos then. I think Bud has a great chance of seeing the final bell.
