Just thought about this. George joined Jobs Corp aged 16 & that was when he was introduced to boxing. Now, by his own admission he was a teenage thug so he woulda had a lot of street fighting experience BUT, think about that. At age 16 he pulls gloves on for the first time & just over 2 years later he is standing on the winner podium at the Olympics. That is beyond belief, my man, that is stretching credulity more than a speech by Donald Trump. From ground zero to Gold Medal in 2 years! He had scary power, no doubt, but he also must have had exceptional skills.

'Just sad. What a life. What a man'

Agree with the last 6 words of your brief message but not the first 2. Death is the most natural thing in the world & for all his epic achievement I don't think George ever claimed he was too tough to die (I think the Ramones did).

Too late for me. I'm the oldest guy on here. Stop being so sensitive about nothing. Big George himself would've laughed.
