Except he has done exactly that three times, and it didn't increase his exposure. The numbers prove it diminished it. So you don't understand "shiiet", to use your spelling.

Depends on the deal. There needs to be a co-promotional deal to allow another broadcaster, and Top Rank/ESPN didn't play that way the last times. End result, nearly 3 million fewer eyes on. Top Rank is required contractually to run it where ESPN tells them to, which will be ESPN+. So it's quite possible that his usual fanbase would be required to get and pay for a US app that they don't use, and may not be allowed to install in their country, in order to watch the fight. Wouldn't be the first time that happened to Inoue because he fought in the US. You never heard of region locks for content?

I've given you actual hard numbers to look at.

He's literally already fought here and it didn't get him more exposure. It got him over 3 million fewer eyes on.

What are you basing your (wrong) opinions on here?

Or are you just really that dumb? I said it's good for me personally if he fights in the US in that post, which you clearly didn't read or understand. But the FACTS do not support your false assertion that it would benefit Inoue. He draws HUGE numbers already. He DOESN'T draw even a fraction of that in the US. Top Rank won't even put the upcoming fight on PPV. So your dumb@$$ thinks it's better for the majority of his fanbase to have to buy a PPV on a Sunday morning, rather than watch him on prime time?

He flat doesn't have a US fanbase to compete with his current base, which already watches him when he fights. The only people who would benefit are the handful of people in the US who watch him, and most of us wake up early in the morning to watch him already anyways. The rest of the US fanbase doesn't like watching the lower divisions, and is proud of it, and anyone left has abandoned boxing for the UFC.

You're talking about the occasional comment from casuals here and there, when the US broadcasters are OUT of the boxing business. Do you honestly think that some comment from some random IceTray fella is in anyway comparable with the fact that Showtime and ESPN are out of the boxing business entirely, and there's NO US broadcasters that will be carrying boxing by end of the year? WTF, man.
      1. how did you know he didn't gain more fans when he fought in the US? you cant prove this. if anything HE GAIN more fans!!! I didn't know about him by watching his fights live in Japan. I found out about him through American media!!! LOL!!

      2. why are you so mad? what's with the name calling? if you are a real fan, wouldn't you want a chance to see him fight live?

      3. why do you make it seem like if Inoue fights in the US then he will lose all his fans in Japan and Asia? so if he fights in the US, then his fans from japan and Asia will not support him?

        I quite literally did. " LOL!!! "

His real fans don't mind if he fights where he will make the most money, and indeed think that he's earned it. They also know where that is, and also that he's already a global superstar, and only doesn't rack up good numbers in the US. I've flown to Japan to watch him fight. Have you? Then STFU about "real fans."

Do YOU support him when he fights in Japan at awkward times for you? Do you get Fuji TV here in the US? CAN you even?

You don't know anything about broadcast rights, for starters, and we've already seen the numbers for his fights in Japan vs his fights in the US. I don't know how you can't understand that he's already done exactly what you are calling for him to do, and it didn't happen the way you claim it was supposed to. Why is it supposed to be different this time? You think he's going to even get close to his 2017 numbers of over 5 million viewers just in Japan? How many viewers did Haney v Lomachenko get? How about Benavidez v Morrell or Andrade? How about Crawford vs anyone at all? Any of Shakur's fights breaking even 2 million viewers? Can you name a SINGLE fight aired in the US in the last 4 years since he fought that pulled anywhere close to 5 million viewers?

Go read the numbers. Numbers don't lie. It's frankly bizarre that you can look at the actual hard evidence and still think the things you do. As usual, you can bring a horse to water, and all that. We're done here.

I don't see that fight on any boxing schedule. Maybe you have access to a boxing schedule I don't. If so, please share. I'm a huge Inoue fan, btw. I have him P4P #1 above my favorite fighter Bud and Usyk. I just don't like seeing Monster in pointless fights.

Inoue is bigger in Japan than any US boxer is in the States.
It doesn't really matter where anyone fights at all and hasn't in a decade and a half, outside of how many people show up at the arena. Its a global sport like all sports broadcasted online so if he does a better gate in Japan Inoue never needs to leave there since he is the star of the lower divisions.

Inoue can fight on in Japan, I see no problem. Americans don`t really care bout that small divisions, do they?
The UK knows Canelo very well.

                He’s the Britsecutioner.

Ok, but I am not a Brit. In continental Europe Usyk, Fury and Joshua are far more popular and known than all other active guys.

I have to go to the boxing gym to discuss Canelo, Bivol, Beterbiev..

Everyone in Japan knows who Naoya Inoue is. He's a household name, and a top 3 popular athlete.

Ask the masses/non-boxing fan in the US or Japan to name a famous active American boxer.
No one would have a clue. Nor would they have even heard of who Terrence Crawford or Tank Davis is.

FACT: Inoue generates more views, event sales than any American fighter now. He has put more asses in seats than anyone in boxing.
Only Canelo (with his Latino fanbase) is comparable.

                    It's proven in the numbers.
