Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach to remain a draw as NYSAC declines to overturn decision

Well folks can we all just take a moment and understand that these organizations are real and have power and control... so much so that even when they admit error they do not alter the outcome. As BoxOffice said the real right decision would have been to DQ DAvis.. And what is galling is how the dwarf arrogently knew that he would not be given a loss in any split decision outcome.
Stank knew he only had to make it to the finish line and would not lose his title. Ridiculous. Shameful...tokon likes this.

This is a cop out. I’m fine with them not retroactively changing the scoring of the round to count a knockdown and therefore give roach the victory. If a knockdown had been called real time, Davis would have fought differently the last 3 rounds to get that point back.
but, feels like they didn’t even address Davis going to the corner and the cornerman coming up to wipe him. That should have been a dq. And an easy way to give roach the win. But protecting Davis appears to be more the goal here…

The ref could have continued counting even when he realised Tank wasnt hurt but wanted his eye wiped. Most would say he absolutely should have continued counting. Im not debating that.
I just think because he knelt, instead of lets say, just saying something to the ref and going to his corner (still diva like), its being seen as 'its should have been ruled a knockdown, and therefore Roach should have won on points'. BUT, if it was ruled a knockdown at the time, we dont know if that would have changed the course of the fight. Which knockdowns usually do.
Surely if this result was changed to a W for Roach, they would have to look at every bad ref decision that potentially could have changed the result of a close points decision.
People wouldnt care so much if it wasnt for it being Tank. The 'overrated overhyped undefeated loud mouth woman beater'.
Im not a fan btw. I just think everyone is triggered by him and being outraged because they hate the little punk. (Youre only adding to the hype imo)

People rightfully debate what the NYSAC should and shouldn't do to the scorecard, but there's no mention of what consequences the referee should face.
Fighters can't get away with their shenanigans without the referee's complicity. Will the referee be disciplined? At all?wrecksracer
