  • Shakur suddenly becomes a shoo in to beat Tank? Since when?

Not long ago the popular opinion on a match
up between Shakur and Tank seemed to significantly favor Tank. This opinion seemed to be held by legit boxing fans, many of whom feel/felt that Tank has the power and resources to catch Shakur.

It now looks like the consensus has changed a bit... At least on this site. How so? Is one to believe that based on the blast two fights, one for each fighter really demonstrated much of anything?

Let me briefly explain... Tank has shown himself vulnerable to pressure before. Some of us believe Cruz beat him, regardless the fight was close. Roach may have been underestimated, he certainly was by myself, but his success was his ability to keep pressure on Tank. Shakur is not a guy who applies pressure as a primary fighting strategy. In fact, Shakur's ability to KO his last opponent matters little. Unless someone thinks he will KO tank.

I am wondering what changed? Tank has had gifts given before with decisions, he has shown a reliance on his power and ability to wreck his opponents before... Ditto for Shakur who certainly can come in for the kill when out-boxing his opponent(s).

I do not wonder why each of you has an opinion about who wins this fight... I wonder why some of you feel like the last fight(s) told us much of anything about this match up. I will share my opinion later...

I don't know about significantly favor tank but it was seen as Shakira being his toughest opponent.

I always thought stank beats him. We seen it when stank stopped frank Martin. Difference is Shakira runs more and throws less so he might last longer or make it to the final bell.

I could see Shakur becoming this generation's Floyd in that he's going to have to stay undefeated to keep folks watching him and he's going to plan on his career based on staying undefeated. I can see him avoiding true threats because once he loses, nobody will tune in to watch again. His style is a good sleep aid and I can attest that it worked once or twice on me perfectly.

even shakur stans would admit he needs a GOOD WIN v somebody good at 135 to get boxing juices flowing again with him then the match up with tank would be very much on but tank wont fight him i dont think no matter what id say shakur steals enough rounds for a W v tank anyway

So let me get this straight. You are not changing your opinion? Good for you. I mean unless someone can make a cogent argument regarding what changed based on The last two fights these two had... Educate me what I missed.

I thing Tank wins as well. I think Shakur can win, especially if Tank does not come in at his best, but I believe Tank's power will deter Shakur considerably.

What separates the men from the boys here is when Shakur is pressured. Tank is not a pressure fighter but punchers have to know how to apply pressure so they catch a boxer. Shakur does not get away with running from Tank, I do not think so.

Stevenson has better wins than Davis and he is a considerably better fighter than Isaac Cruz or Lamont Roach. That's what people are really saying. Davis has never been in the ring with anyone on Stevenson's level.

It's not like Davis would ever fight him anyway. Davis doesn't fight top ranked contenders in his own weight class. Never has, never will.

Tank applies pressure very intelligently. I cannot see Shakur just avoiding him for 12 rounds. I could well be wrong here... All these guys need a good win, they just avoid each other, it sucks!

Shakira is NOT a fighter lol if Edwin had Shakira running away I'm sure stank can do the same.
