Roach came in mentally prepared to fight fire with fire all the way to the final round. Unlike others who start by being already defensive, afraid to get hit, which is a losing formula.

I think roach executed a very good fight strategy. That being said, Davis seemed to wait until the 6th round to engage, actually start fighting. I'm not sure the fight would have turned out any differently.
