Shakur is now fighting a part time electrician? Is this true?

The greatest joy in boxing is seeing a massive underdog dethrone the coc.ky, mouthy champion. It's happened before, not just in cinema, and as a fan I'd love to see it again and again.
Seeing Teo humiliated by Kambo was the last time I can remember, and that was joyous.Comment

Shakur made around $3 million for his last fight and is more than likely making a bit more for tomorrow's fight. All in all, I'd say he's doing good and turning down 25% to fight Devin hasn't hindered him one bit..
Some folks criticize Boots for not having Eddie pay Norman Jr an extra $500,000, some folks criticize Haney for not offering Shakur 35% instead of 25%.
By the way, how much money do you think Shakur was gonna make fighting Haney at 25% of the split??

He definitely went into overdrive once he got the belts, and became totally insufferable. But before he fought Teo he was an "I believe I can beat anyone because I worked hard in the gym" kind of guy. Then he started calling himself "The Emperor" and spent all his time sniffing his own farts.Comment

I see what you mean. It's silly to get passionate about opinions, that is why I respectfully disagreed with yours. What isn't an opinion though, is that Shakur will be fighting in a few hours on one of the best fight cards ever and will be getting paid more than he's ever been paid before. The amount he will be making today is more than what he would have made fighting Devin a while back.
All in all, not accepting 25% to fight Haney was more than likely the right decision and he's still undefeated. Getting back to the point of this thread, Shakur fighting an electrician is not because of his choosing to do so. The reason is that Zepeda bowed out of this fight a while back and Schofield bowed out just a few days ago, leaving Hearn with the difficult task of finding someone last minute who is willing to fight Shakur today....

Gotta hand it to Turki for keeping the train rolling along.. Hearn mentioned in an interview that finding a last minute replacement was expensive....Comment
