I think Jared Anderson needs to decide once and for all whether he truly wants to reach his full potential.

Anderson has a tremendous opportunity as an elite professional boxer, however he simply might not have the perspective (yet) to realize that there are literally thousands of boxers toiling in obscurity who would love to be in his position.

That’s a great observation and by doing that he might come to realize that there are thousands of boxers who are working tirelessly to be in his current position

Jared seems like the type to wake up at like 36 and realize he squandered an opportunity in his youth but I get it not everyone wants to bash brains in for a living

Really strange - if you genuinely want him to improve, in the ring and out, these are not the kind of conversations to have in public.
Exactly , they do him way more harm than good by airing out dirty laundry in public. What happens in the family stays in the family. Jared would be smart to look for a promotion that would not do stuff like that.

Just change the focus. If you don't really love boxing, then find something you really want, like 100 acres and a micro-farm, and box to achieve it.

You can make a lot more in the ring than you'll make anywhere else, at least for now.

He should go do whatever it is that makes him satisfied in his life. If it's not boxing it could turn out really bad for his health, physical and mental. He's not obligated to be the meal ticket for family and friends if boxing isn't his thing. Good luck to him in finding his way and staying out of trouble. Just a thought that popped into my head , Happiness isn't a thing that you find , it's a thing that you are.

Anderson did ok for a comeback fight after a pretty devastating defeat to Bakole only 6 months ago. Weighed the heaviest of his entire career, and didn't seem fully focused or happy to be there. Some sort of intervention from a mentor might be needed, or a change of team and location. Roy didn't seem to help with that pep talk last year but maybe someone else would be more effective. For some reason, Anderson's vacant, disinterested gaze during the fight at times reminded me of Oliver McCall.

This is good advice. Too bad he probably won't see it. But he definitely needs to get his head right and find some motivation, because boxing is too dangerous to do if you don't really want to do it. Not just for him, but for his loved ones 30 years down the line...

Anderson seems a little bipolar, some kind of mental health issues. That can be dangerous when boxing for a living. He needs to make a decision....get a trainer who can teach him solid defense, more solid boxing fundamentals and get his nutritionand training honed in. Or, go into a different line of work.

Anderson has decent power and he is obviously a smart dude. He relies too much on his physical gifts and his reflexes....those are great tools, but he doesn't have the fundamentals down well enough. His natural gifts will beat big tomato cans, but he will never beat fundamentally good boxers as he is. He wants paychecks but doesn't seem to want to put in the amount of work it takes to be a top guy.

If he doesn't woodshed on the fundamentals he will get KOd in his next step up fight.

If your heart is not in boxing 100% and youre just half assing it at the top level…you WILL get severely hurt. Already happend once with bakole and itll happen again to him
