Andy Cruz is ranked #1 by the WBC, #3 by the WBA, and #3 by the IBF. How much higher in the ranks do you want him to get, before Keyshawn stops marinating him?

They shouldn’t push Cruz too fast. Remember Lomas second professional fight agains a journeymen in Solido? He got an ass whippin. Salido wasn’t even that good.

Just for clarification don't get me wrong I do expect and would like to see Keyshawn Davis and Andy Cruz fight while they are still both in their physical prime, but Andy Cruz certainly was not helping push his cause by waiting until he was 27 to turn professional and is now already 29 without much to show yet where Davis is still 25 and entering his physical prime and defeating the weak link but still obtaining a belt.

Frankly amateur fight record matters IMO for how fast a guy should get pushed as a pro but the H2H backthen isn't THAT important given that it is a totally different setting. Sure, Cruz did go 4-0 against Keyshawn 4-0 as an amateur, but if I wanted to I can make the argument that all those fights came when Keyshawn was still age 20~22 and less experienced while Cruz was a much more experienced in the amateurs and matured at age 24-26. So around the age Cruz was defeating amateur young Keyshawn, Keyshawn was defeating a professional old beltholder.

I mean the guy that who last defeated Inoue during the amateurs when Inoue was still a teen royally failed at the pros and didn't make it to anywhere while the one who lost went on to become one of the best boxers in Japanese history and ongoing.

Andy Cruz had to get out of Cuba to be a pro. That is obviously not easy to do and took some time.

Lomachenko asked to be pushed fast as a pro and many people didn’t have a problem with it. Why can’t Cruz call out Keyshawn with only 4 pro fights?

The WBC protects Canelo with bogus things like "the franchise belt" so that he doesn't have to take a loss against a mandatory like Benavidez. What you actually want him to do is to fight Shakur Stevenson or Gervonta Davis to get a belt. Not get an easy one off of someone like Berinchyk.

He could also fight Raymond Muratalla or Zaur Abdullaev for the IBF interim. Or Zepeda if he decides to skate from Shakur after he defeats Farmer in the rematch.

Keyshawn has much better pro experience and is now nearing his prime. No shame losing to Cruz years ago who was older and more experienced.
Cruz needa a couple of progressively more difficult fight over the next 12months then set up the fight!

But it’s ingenuous to say “oh, Andy Cruz is merely ranked #15 by the WBO.” He is considered top 5 in the world by 3 out of the 4 sanctioning bodies.

And as already mentioned he was 4-0 against Keyshawn in the Olympics, including in their gold medal match.

I would bet money that Keyshawn fights someone ranked lower in his next fight.
