I'd don't want to hear any more marketing BS from either Ennis or Haney...fight the fights, no more chit chat.

That said, Boots is fighting the best in the division and a guy that's coming to win. Ortiz, like it or not, is in for the fight of his life against a top 2 or 3 154lber.

I wonder who it was, his dad and his team, or Jaron, that didn't want to fight Vergil next.

You'd think it wasn't the fighter who chickened out, especially one with 'Boot's' talent. But yeah, not a good look I agree.

It feels like promoters float possible fights to gauge interest or perhaps just keep a buzz around their fighters. It has gotten old hearing about all these great matchups that are coming only to watch them evaporate like a mirage...poof its gone. I am at the point that all these mouths with their constant blustering mean nothing to me until it is signed on the dotted line and the arena is booked.

We know it was not Ortiz or Garcia that rejected the fight. We can argue all day long about whether it was Eddie, Boots or his dad that rejected the fight but at the end of the day it was someone in their camp, or it was a unanimous decision.

Ennis is busy trying to unify 147.

Bud should have skipped the Porter fight and tried to make a fight happen with Jermell at 154... said nobody.

                See how that works?

I seem to remember Bud talking about challenging Jermell ... but Jermell decided to cash out against Canelo and ... then he was out of action.

Of course, it was Team Ennis' fault why that fight isn't happening. Only to save face; Is why they decided to meet Team Ortiz at the bargaining table in the first place. However, make no mistake about it.

Team Ennis was never going to fight Vergil Ortiz because he is too high risk with very little reward. I am not saying that it was on Jaron. He is fighter. So he'll fight anyone.

Most likely it came from either his pops Bozy Ennis or Eddie Hearn who turned down that fight. My personal belief is that it was Bozy Ennis.

I don't think that he feels that his son is ready or has developed enough in order to defeat and eat punches from Vergil Ortiz at this current stage of his career.

However, I do pick Israil Madrimov to defeat Vergil Ortiz though and project that Jaron "Boots" Ennis will defeat Eimantas Stanionis.

It goes without saying. This is a bad look for Jaron "Boots" Ennis in the eyes of the court of public opinion and among boxing fans. It doesn't matter whether or not it was himself or his father who pulled out of that fight.

At the end of day though. This is all on Jaron "Boots" Ennis because he has the final say to what happens in his career. If he really wanted the fight badly enough then he would have taken it.

However, he has taken the advice of his father Bozy in order to help lead, guide and manage his career.
