I tend to take such comments with a grain of salt. I do believe these guys don’t like each other very much, but they do respect each others’ ability. Morrell is probably just talking trash to hype the fight. I’m certain he’s steeling himself for a real battle. He better be, anyway.

I think he does and we see a new star turn in boxing. I see Morrell starting out strong and befuddling a slow footed there who may even get dropped in the first few rounds. Then I see David digging deep, pressing and winning several middle rounds before ultimately fading and being taken apart by a resurgent Morrell and losing late by KO. Not sure why I have such faith in Morrell since he hasn’t really shown this kind of heart thus far in his career (and Cubans are not generally known for heart) but he is a great athlete and seems super hungry to be a star.
Yeah, there’s zero evidence to indicate how well Morrell will react to adversity. I do believe he will do well in the first half of the fight, but it’s anyone’s guess how he’ll fare in the later rounds. As for Cubans and heart, so much of this has to do with environment, life experience and culture. Mexican fighters are generally known for heart, and rightfully so. That’s a cultural thing that’s been developed over many decades. They tend to come up the hard way. Old-time Cuban boxers were as tough as they come, but the new school was brought up in the amateur boxing system and different ways. A lot of these guys dominated international competitions, so they didn’t develop true intestinal fortitude for real fights. But these are generalizations. Yuri Gamboa, for instance, showed a lot of heart versus Crawford. Lara, despite being primarily a points-type guy, has been in some wars. I agree with your final assessment, at any rate. I think Morrell believes in his potential, and he won’t be easily denied.

If his last fight is any indication of how Benny tires , I’m hoping Morrell can take advantage of that and capitalize on his fatigue
Although with the bad blood and all , I’m sure both guys will try to keep some stamina for those late championship rounds

What is the difference between Jaron Boots Ennis and David Morrell in terms of handling boogeymen?

I’ve said many times that I believe the difference-maker in this fight will be conditioning. Both these guys are terrific fighters; their strengths are closely matched. If a KO happens, it likely won’t come before the 10th. Just my opinion.

Yeah I totally agree that conditionings will be a game changer in this fight
Benny seems to gas out or tends to at least , deep into his fights
I’m hoping Morrell can take advantage of that and finish strong

I still think benny can get an accumulation stoppage. Punches in bunches will break morrell down
