I am not a Canelo apologist; when he makes the wrong move, he needs to be called on it. My question remains: Who made the offer, and when and how much was offered? As to your question, I have no idea who would pay that kind of money, but a question cannot be answered by another question but by verifiable facts alone. I am still interested to find out, what the "insane offer" was, if anything. It seems that a so-called reporter would ask Benavidez the obvious -- who made the offer, how much and when. Anything else is drivel.

Benavidez was canelo's mandatory. Just like all of the other weak mandatory challengers that Canelo had no problem defending his belt against. What offers did they make? Also, according to Benavidez there was an offer to Canelo that he rejected.


"It was more than 45 million dollars. That was the money that Al Haymon and PBC were offering for the fight against Canelo. I see a lot of people saying you don't make offers to the A-side, but $45 million is a world of money. People want to see that fight, the company was backing me. Benny and his team disrespected canelo, so benny blew it, he will never get the fight, plus he will never be able to make 168 again, he shd just move on.

Its disappointing because I would have liked to have seen the fight, he is made for canelo, he eats shots and is one dimensional.

There's just no room for bad words in a sport were men are trained to beat humans into unconsciousness. Obviously Charlo got the fight with his charm & winning personality. As for Morrell, Canelo considers him Mexican because he eats so many crunchywrap supremes and Quesaritos.

People even the Mexican fans of his know that Canelo his known for his high school favorite passion Dodge Ball! I can see him hanging with David due to his errors also, but Canelo doesn’t want that work rate/chin that Benavidez has shown.

I agree with Benavidez. If Canelo thought that he could beat him he would have already fought him. That said , Benavidez has a lot of physical advantages in the fight and Canelo isn't dumb , but if you want to call yourself the best you have to be willing to fight anyone in your division, period. Canelo is not doing that.

And Charlo disrespected Canelo before they ever signed and Canelo said that was incentive to fight him. So that disrespect stance is hypocritical. As is the case with any defense of Canelo. The guys is literally indefensible without looking like a two face. Can’t use the disrespect argument, nor the “what have they done” argument, can’t bash fighters for using banned substances, corrupt scorecards, missing weight, using catchweights, using rehydration clauses, ducking fighters as canelo is guilty of all of the above. Better approach is to just admit he’s a disappointment to the sport at this stage.

Moreover, the "disrespect" shown by Benavidez's father, particularly in Spanish-speaking sites reached ugly levels -- way beyond anything anyone else said. But I think Benavidez not getting the fight has little to do with a lack of respect though that might play a part. I just find it interesting that Canelo triggers people so much.

Do you know what was said ? I can read Spanish if you have any links. I'm curious as to what offended him so much that's worth losing the respect of the fans and why he wouldn't want to beat the mans son up to teach him a lesson if it's like that.
