Comments Thread For: Examining the scorecards for the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch

Boxing scoring is more like the US electorate..if you win a state by even 1 vote, you take the entire electoral college and the numbers would suggest a wider gap than the actual vote count. So too in boxing because even if you are better with just one extra shot each round, you win the fight 12-0 so the scores do not necessarily indicate how close the actual rounds were (except if it is one-side or has a KD).
In my view, only rounds 5 and 9 could easily be judged as Fury's, while rounds 6, 7, 8, and 11 could be judged as Usyk's. The other rounds were less convincing and only slightly favored one fighter. Within these rounds, in my view, rounds 1 and 4 go to Fury while rounds 2, 3, and 12 go to Usyk. Round 10 was more difficult to score for me but given the activity, I gave it to Usyk.
So, my score was also 116-112 but I can understand someone scoring it 116-113 or even 115-113 as well. In all cases, however, Usyk is the winner.

I thought Usyk nicked it but 116-112 was abit to wide. I thought it was closer than the first fight and that was a SD. 115-113 Usyk tho is fine but it was competitive and fury boxed a good disciplined fight this time but he came in a bit to heavy imo and usyk's work rate was enough to get him the win
