For sure Fury didn't lose that fight by four rounds , that was just wrong. Fury and Usyk are the only two that can beat each other and it's still the best show in town . F...k Danny boy he's been KO'd and Joshua has just been iced so shouldn't figure in anything . There should be trilogy from the best two heavyweights in the world , not a chance for second raters.

The debate is only around those first 3 rounds. After that only the 9th was even debatable.
And in those first 3 rounds two of the judges gave him 1 round and one gave him 2 rounds. That's perfectly reasonable - they weren't just favouring one fighter constantly.
From that point on it got a lot easier to judge. And they tend to all agree.
One judge gave him 9. It was a close round so I can understand that but I thought it was a fairly obvious Usyk round.
One judge gave him 12 which is simply an error of judgement. He absolutely did not win that round.
There's no controversy here at all. The only reason it exists is the commentary on the night and then Team Fury's whinging. They've been two good fights but Usyk has clearly been a deserved winner twice.
Frank claiming Fury won by 3 or 4 rounds is just fantasy. It shouldn't be given any credibility at all.
Nor should the commentators by the way. They revise their view of past rounds based on how the fight is generally going. I just saw Bunce on the "Access all areas" video. After two he thought Usyk was 2-0 up. After 6 he had Fury ahead. Usyk had just dominated the 6th round - there's no way he had Fury up unless he had revised the first two rounds.Last edited by Toffee; 12-23-2024, 04:12 PM.Damn Wicked likes this.

Sugarhill said it best to Fury....When Fury was on the front foot he was winning ....I had the fight even....neither fight controlled the fight....run it back!

These heavyweights would have a hard time earning a sparring partner role with the heavyweights of yesteryear. I'm not waxing nostalgic.
Give Usyk his props but he doesn't crack the top ten in my all time heavyweight list. Not even close. Fury needs to retire. Enough of his B.S. Usyk could fight another ten years with the lack of talent in the current heavyweight division. I mean, the runway for big payday fights (as long as the Arabs are willing to foot the bill) is there for Uyyk's taking. He could probably fight two in one night and not break a sweat. Pathetic.Slowhand

I don't think it was a decision you could call 'robbery', certainly not I'd say.
Maybe we'd think differently sitting at ringside looking at a fight, I'm not sure. They do see it somewhat differently watching at ringside.
I saw there was an argument saying Usyk's punches were more pitty pat punches, and Fury's were more effective. I don't think they were weak punches, as he did back Fury up a number of times.
All in all, it was a rather disappointing fight, but we expected a lot, maybe too much.
It wasn't the greatest fight. I agree. It was more of a chess match. But a chess match Fury definitely won. But i knew Usyk was going to get it for obvious reasons. The energy from fans had set it in stone. But they know. The wide cards they're giving are some of the most laughable cards i've ever seen. And i've seen many joke cards over the decades. One of the worst being that ridiculous AI card. Who programmed it, Cheatham and Weisfield? It certainly looked that way.bimhead

Fury kept Usyk at bay this time .I must admit I watched the fight in anticipation thinking that because of the extra weight Fury would get tagged again , I shouldn't have worried , it never happened , it actually helped . Fury fought a great fight and deserved the win . A trilogy is head and shoulders above any other fight as it's only either of these two that can beat each other and I'm sure Usyk knows deep down he was slightly gifted his win this time.

People have been conditioned to see everything Usyk does more favorably than it actually is and anything Fury does will never be good enough.bimhead likes this.

Fury lost this fight clearly. His team knows that it's in their best interest to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of Fury ball huggers and all the casuals who don't know how to score a fight.
