His fight cards are huge and are supposed to massively eclipse any PPV card in America. Yet we never see Rafael, Coppinger, etc. come up with any PPV number from Turki's fights, but are quick to provide fake numbers when it comes to PBC obviously pulled out from their ass.
    Do you really care?

No, he's not getting any return from his "investment" other than showcasing his country in a new light. That's a given. It's not even new, it's been an age-old quest since time immemorial. No need to repeat it. You can find it in Sandra Mackey's book "The Saudis" on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Saudis-Inside...s%2C100&sr=8-2

But still, some people are just wondering what the numbers are. Top Rank is promoting his fights in the US as they're the recipient of ppv buys on the US feeds, thus numbers had to exist, whatever they are. If it's mere 10K or something, fine, let us now. If everyone assumes they're all pirated, then why assume others like more expensive fights on PBC are not?

Most fans would rather not have any concerns about these anomalous figures like few of us do. They'd rather dwell on fantasy pretending cable tvs are still prevalent, thus PPVs are still very much saleable. They're fond of fantasies even though non of them buy PPVs.

Just years ago, $1 million purse is a huge deal. Some even complain why uncle Al Haymon is paying too much for his fighters. Anything higher is in fraction of that figure. Those numbers are all gone now and replaced by fake exaggerated numbers. Well, it all started when DAZN repped by Hearn started offering 10x as much. That was because it's a startup in boxing, thus willing to spend a billion $$$ like all startups do. Not to be outdone, PBC fans and fake writers started inflating figures. Spinoza overpaid Wilder just to catch up with the figures. Oh man, it almost bankrupted Showtime and Wilder's fights were eventually passed on to Fox Sports. "Ortiz vs Wilder 2 PPV didn't make sense to us," Spinoza finally declared. It's comical.

True. Last time I checked, Wilder was on ESNews complaining about why PBC hasn't paid him for his fight with Helenius. And this was guy who waxed poetic about his loyalty to Showtime and PBC.

We get what we want.... Premium fights that matter 3-4 times a year ... Who"s here to complain ? ...

US and UK just have to deepen their pockets, but let's all agree that something like the Feb 22 Card would never happen in the free World...

              So Thank You Turki ...

                - - Deyonce wings was melted wax. That $200 mil 3 fight deal Eddie offered him during AJ American debut is looking better than ever uncashed in Eddie's pocket...

Dunno bout the Desert Turki, but Mohammad Bone Sawman is reaping rewards from sportswashing the cultural capital generated.

Which is all it's meant to do.

With over 750 billion of Saudi Wealth Fund to play with, Turki can pretend he's the most excellent of promoters while pissing away billions on his fantasy fights.

And in many ways he probably is, given the stacked cards and fights that wouldnt have been staged otherwise.

Yeah, I've seen several of those Youtube videos of Wilder complaining he hasn't been paid. Was so strange to watch them. It's so opposite to the usual, "Thank you Al Haymon!"

As others have said it's not about money.

I went to Saudi last year and let me tell you, it's mind blowing.

Their infrastructure, cleanliness etc it's all LIGHT YEARS ahead of the west. You go back to England and it's just a backwards, unpleasant chit hole.

Lots of people who wouldn't have considered going there have been out for the boxing, and Saudis reputation as a tourism destination will continue to grow, it will be on a similar level to Dubai soon.

There's somewhat of an Exodus happening from a lot of anglosphere countries. From Australia and New Zealand a lot of young, skilled people are leaving for a better lifestyle in developing asian nations, Kuala Lumpar, ****kok, Manilla, Hanoi.

20 years ago these places were ****holes but the development there is light years ahead of the west. Again their infrastructure and development is outstripping us by an insane amount and these are fast becoming super modern, clean high tech cities

From Europe, talented people are going to Saudi, Dubai places like that.

This is a massive issue, one of many that the west has no idea how to combat.

But yeah to the original question, it's not a money making exercise, Saudi don't need to make money from these events, it's about getting 1000s of people over there and showing what Saudi has to offer.
