I happen to be a fan of Haney. I think he's got skills and has put in a lifetime's amount of work into the sport and he definitely earned my respect after finishing on his feet against Ryan.
I'm not a fanboy and I will criticize him like I'll criticize any boxer I like or dislike. I must say that some of the hate he receives is unwarranted in my opinion, but some of his actions outside of the ring make it easy to dislike him. Although I dislike that he's taken the route of suing a fellow boxer for battery, that won't change my opinion of him in the ring.

It was made worse when his thug bodyguards jumped in.
He can't get beaten out of the sport quickly enough.
To each their own

Which is why I believe Ryan Garcia should have been disqualified rather than having just a no contest and a one year suspension.
In addition to deliberately breaking the sanctioning body’s rules by not honoring his contractual weight agreement . He popped dirty on at least five separate occasions for doping.

It wasn’t a professionally sanctioned bout if one of the fighters were caught doping. He broke a rule.

I'm not interested in getting to know any of these boxers personally. I judge their boxing ability by how they conduct themselves in the ring. I'll judge their out of the ring behavior separately, but understand why others feel different than I.Comment
