Hammer made 12 defenses at middleweight and unified before losing to Shields and won a belt at 168. She got a gift against HOFer Anne Sophie Mathis and that's unfortunate but she beat at least six other champions and only officially lost to Shields.
Hmm - it all looks good but the level of competition in woman's boxing is mediocre which is also why they can jump around in weights to pick off weak champions. That said, if men had those kind of records they'd be lock-ins for the HOF - but that's where nuance and context play a part.

Fighters are judged against their peers and these women were amongst the best in their era, and their era was stronger than any before it. I have no doubt that all three will get in, and they should. The depth in women's boxing is indeed much worse than men's but it's still better now than any previous era of women's boxing, by orders of magnitude. We all love Lucia Rijker and Laila Ali, as we should, but if you look at their records their opposition was for the most part a bunch of pushovers compared to the resumes of someone like Shields, Braekhus, or Taylor.

        You are who you fight
        Plain and simple

If you're thriving in a dead div, fck off.

Hopefully MFers are "Famous" because of their RESUME and not because of their fan friendliness or bizarre antics.

        Case in point....Gatti.
Action, fan favorite. Famous for his epic brawls......WITH C/D level MFers !!!
When he stepped up, he got crushed.
No way in any realm of reality should a guy like him get enshrined.
        But he got murked.
        Sympathy inductee ?!?!?

        Paz ?!?!?
Like Gatti, it has to be a sympathy vote.
        Broken neck comeback.
        Sub mid resume.

        Mike Tyson ?!?!?
        Truly a marketing phenomenon
        Youngest blahblahblah
The champs he beat were temp champs at best.
Holmes coming off a 2 year lay off is his best win.

Pac is on the edge....Did next to nothing as a WW (yeah, yeah, Keef Hurtman.....is a name because.......unrealized potential )
Beating Morales (2/3), Barrera (2/2) and JMM (2-1-1KTFO) (6-1-2) has to be what got him in.

        Women, meh.
Maybe there will be a couple who know what they are doing out of 100s.

The problem is none of these padded stats really matter because nobody really cares about female boxing except female boxing fans and gay boxing fans like you which is cool but it only takes up about 1% of the entire fanbase.
