Benavidez v Morrell is being made because PBC is struggling and they decided to take a page from the Russell Peltz playbook which is no baby sitting fighters. Fight tough fights and let’s see who’s the last man standing. Tank should be next on the list because Amazon Prime ain’t buying what Haymon is trying to shove down their throats.

I agree that babysitting should be banned. So I propose for Dazn that they stop babysitting fights like Shakur vs Andy Cruz and Boots vs Conor Benn

AAAhhhh finally someone I can talk to. I also really want this fight to happen. But I want it to happen because I want to see two talented fighters go at it but I also know that it is for the greater good of the sport. Even tho I know Boot's is going to take the lion's share of the blame for this (and perhaps he should) I can distinctly remember telling you guys for years that this fight would never happen ON DAZN in SAUDI. Oscar and Eddie knows that too much is at stake. Just like Shakur vs Zapeda is a fight that has to happen in Vegas not Saudi. Oscar is American PPV royalty and he knows how to help make a succesful PPV event.

Now I really want to know who Boots will fight next, because regardless of who's to blame if it is anything other than an unification at 147, or worst case a name value combined money fight it will look real bad. Meaning Norman Jr or Barrios at the minimum (Stanionis already occupied), or money fight with Benn in UK, or a miracle crazy crap like Teo or Garcia going to 147, or a worst case backup of a happy Tokyo vacation against Jin Sasaki (yes, delusions are free)

By the way I am still skeptical about it, but if Tank really does retire next year, it would be such a wasteful shame that he managed to somehow make such a financially super successful career out of not fighting the top guy of the division ever and never having an unification fight.

He'd managed to not fight Teo, Haney, Loma, and Shakur despite them all having been a beltholder for a good amount of time in the same division. He's also likely to retire without having fought top contenders and potential future beltholders like Keyshawn, Muratalla, and Zepeda. Although not everything is his fault, atleast some of them would've took the offer if he actually made the offer as the A-side cash cow.

I mean it's not a secret that they have to use PPVs to sell the fights right now. Just like DAZN discovered. Remember Eddie Hearn in 2018 said PPV is DEAD? Then a few years later he came out and lied and said he "never said PPV is DEAD" even though we have this new technology called video evidence. Yesterday FIGHTHYPE did an interview with Espinoza. He acknowledged that Amazon is not paying for the fights and unfortunately they have to use the PPV model to generate income. PBC is, just like DAZN was, on a case by case basis a.k.a. show and prove. If we want boxing to thrive in America then we need all the fights we can get on our soil. Having our fights outsourced to Saudi will not help. We need PBC, TR and GBP on deck ten toes down. My Xmas wish for 2025 is that Amazon and ESPN come to some sort of agreement to host all three companies on their networks. If that happens then I guarantee you they will give them a budget.

The fighters that Steven stole from Golden Boy are old, and the PBC doesn't have the network or money to cultivate new talent. Amazon isn't paying and the few fighters that are even a marginal draw charge $80.00 because the PBC has no money to pay them.

For the past 7 years the PBC fu<ked everyone with their "in house", "family" and "other side of the street" BS and for those reasons and more I doubt if anyone is going to fight with Turki Alaishikhto save the PBC.

The beauty of boxing is that it is an international sport, not just American, which makes for different styles... Inoue might not be American, but he's fun to watch, as was Manny when he was younger.
