What Toney did outside of HW is irrelevant to the discussion.
Again, not an argument because James Toney was easily beaten by actual unranked journeyman in his prime multiple times. AJ's loss's have only been to Top 10 ranked contenders and/or reigning champions. So that same critique you are using for AJ can be used the other way around but even worse.
Secondly, Ruiz is 10x the Heavyweight Toney is and would beat him easily so that's not an argument either.

Prime James Toney was a MW. Toney @ HW is such because he ballooned up like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade float. While he is a highly-skilled fighter, to give him a chance vs prime top HWs when he was prime is sketchy. To give him a chance against them in his HW state of disgust is folly.
