We still don't know if Madrimov will make it pass Serhii. Uzbek don't have that "dog" in them. Once Madrimov feel the professional Pressure from Serhii, his game plan will change. Doubt that he can stop Serhii. Now Serhii is more motivated to win that match for the disrespect from Team Madrimov.

It should have been Vergil vs the guy who beat Tim Tszyu.

It was offered to Fundora but Sampson passed........

I dont know what all the fuss is about regarding the 8 week turnaround? As long as he doesnt get cut or injured, 8 weeks is PLENTY of time. He will already be on weight and in shape, so it might actually BENEFIT him. He can spend the entire camp focusing on strategy instead of worrying about cutting weight or getting in fighting shape........

Finally we see fighters willing to fight more than once or twice a year and people are actually COMPLAINING about it?????

I agree that Serhii should have been offered the rematch. I agree that Serhii will beat Madrimov as well. You're wrong, what I will be saying is "Turki should have offered Serhii the Feb 22nd slot against Virgil to begin with".

But you know that Virgil didn't choose Madrimov over Serhii. Turki chose Madrimov over Xander after Boots decided not to fight Virgil because "hE wAsN't AwAre tHaT EdDie, hIs PrOmOtEr, wAs nEgOtIaTiNg fOr hIM tO fIgHt ViRgLe bEhInD his back".

Having said that, I still stand by what I said. "It makes more sense for Virgil to fight Madrimov instead of Xander on the 22nd of February".

Interesting that Bohachuk is also mad at being "jilted." Just proves that these guys will say yes to any tough fight.

In contrast, Turki first offered Ortiz to Jaron Boots and then Terence Bud. Both said no. Interesting.

I personally wanted to see Boots fight Virgil, not happening. Turki wants to see Virgil fight Madrimov instead of Xander. It makes sense in relation to Turki saying that he want's to see the best fight the best. Madrimov is seen as a better fighter than Xander.

Virgil is not giving Turki names to choose from, Turki is telling Virgil "Madrimov is available, I want you to fight him. Will you accept?" Virgil is saying yes because he doesn't complicate fights being made.

Had Boots agreed to fight Virgil we'd be seeing Boots fight Virgil instead of Virgil fighting Madrimov, but we already know why Boots ain't fighting Virgil on the 22nd of Feb...

Yeah, these ex Soviets will fight anyone. They don't complicate fights getting made...

the 8 weeks isn't an issue - he'll roll one camp into another - just a case of different sparring for Ortiz. The question is a/ whether he beats Bohachuk and B/ whether he gets any injuries

Bohachuk must be steaming - huge motivation for him seeing as he's being blatantly overlooked

This is prize fighting and Ortiz fighting in a bigger more profitable card with exposure is the deal to take. It shows you the character of Xander that he was immediately willing and still interested in fighting Ortiz. No hesitation and disappointment not getting the fight.
