Seriously , why do y'all care so much about peoples skin color ? It's just melanin , that's all. Do y'all sit around keeping a scorecard of what color different people who do different things are ? It seems like such a waste of time and energy to make your own lives so small by obsessing over inconsequential stuff like " This color guy did this , and that color guy did that...etc, etc. Seriously, what does their skin have to do with anything ?
It was a big deal during the election where commentators really focused on the voting tendencies of those with various melanine level, so it must be more important than economy in America. /s

Whether he cared or not doesn't change the fact that the extra weight is an advantage.

I think it's better than fighting a blown up jr light. Weight drained doesn't seem as bad as undersized.

I mean I can understand fighters being half a pound or a pound over because sometimes fighters just can't take anymore off and there's body just won't budge it. But 6 and half pounds is ridiculous. I get the guy fought at 140lbs last time out and hasn't boxed since the Hitchins fight but he's had plenty of time so coming in over the light welterweight division never mind the lightweight division is crazy. Should definitely be handing over some of his purse to keyshawn for that

When they asked him what happened he said they had a bad scale in camp. LOL.

You think that's down to professionalism, or being unable to make the weight? Do you think he should have turned down the fight and said "hey, go look somewhere else" knowing that he was not going to be able to make weight? This is always my issue when fighters pull guys down from weight classes that they're established at. They're either going to miss weight and get blamed for it, or be badly weight drained. When they're the B side fighter who doesn't get the opportunity to headline, what do you think they should do, as professionals? IMO context matters here. Both sides knew this was going to happen, and there were surely contractual penalties written in. I guarantee you Davis' team knew this was a strong possibility. If he wanted to fight Lemos straight up, he'd have offered the fight at 140, or chosen a guy already at 135. So who's really the one ruining the sport? The B-side, or the A-side pulling a guy down from a higher weight?
I can't argue with that. Good points!!

But the promo guys did not check in ? They did not have a reliable back up ? That is a problem too. Now what making weight dont matter ? Matter of fact both fighters seemed to act like so i get my check who cares screw the fan who takes this stuff serious.

So did Tank Davis. Happens to many fighters.

One big difference is that most of them weren't competing a division up for years. Lemos has been at 140 since 2019, excepting one fight with Lee Selby, and he then lost his #1 IBF spot he won in that fight with an even more egregious 8 lb miss in the very next fight, and ended up on the shelf for a year. He can't make 135, and I guarantee everyone, including Davis, knew that going in. You don't bring a guy with a history of missing weight down to the weight class he was forced to move out of, years later, and expect him to make weight. If he did make weight, he'd have been BADLY drained, and since he didn't, I'm sure he'll have to pay a financial penalty to Davis, who was the A-side anyways. So win-win for Davis.
Another thing about this case is that it probably doesn't bring up as huge of an uproar that it isn't a title fight of any sort, like those mentioned.
