Its amazing that y'all are still talking that "resume" nonsense. That was always just an excuse to justify Spence avoiding the fight,. But yet after he destroyed Spence y'all are still repeating Spence's and PBC's excuses. The fight happened already. Spence lost. Let it go. The resume excuse no longer serves a purpose. It was never true in the first place. And I have no idea who y'all are comparing his activity to because hardly anyone is fighting more than once a year these days. And Canelo doesn't have anyone to fight who brings a lot to the table to compare to his own stardom and popularity. I highly doubt he will be fighting Gervonta Davis or Anthony Joshua anytime soon.
Bud can still make good fights at 154 and make decent to good money. As a fan of Bud, I'd like to see Bud become undisputed at 154, instead of hoping for the Ginger lottery, but that doesn't seem likely either.
Both Bud and Ginger are in their 30s and I respect them both. Both have given much of their lives to boxing and are at an age where they should be able to live off the fruits of their labor.

I am not questioning that. I am merely saying that he could be within a couple of fights of separating himself from Inoue and Usyk as the only one who is undisputed in three weight divisions. When asked recently about that, Bud said - it is money and/or legacy, nothing else matters to him.Comment

There is also no reason that he can't or won't fight the champs at 154. But its not like any of them are proven reignng champs with a name. Who at 154 gets Bud more credit than Canelo? He can beat Fondura and Murtazaliev and the haters will just say but what have they done besides beat a washed Tim Tszyu.
Canelo is the biggest money AND legacy fight. It makes sense Bud would pursue that first.Last edited by KING.TUT.766; 11-06-2024, 03:56 AM.Comment

Ginger ducked Benavidez when he was at 168. Bud fought for the first time at 154 just 3 months ago, how can Ginger be ducking Bud when Bud is 2 weight classes lower. As great as I think Bud is, he brings nothing to the table. He's not a mandatory, he doesn't hold a title at 168 and deservedly or not, does not bring much of a fan base to add to Ginger's draw power to spike up PPV sales.
There ain't no ducking going on, there's just nothing for Ginger to gain from the fight.Comment

I agree that he should try for the undisputed at 154. That way he would ensure his legacy by being a three division undisputed champion. Now it makes sense why he refused to fight Fundora. None of us really understood what was happening. So it is Canelo or bust. It might be bust, as I remember reading a post a few weeks ago where someone met Canelo though a mutual friend on a golf course and Canelo told them he hated Bud and would never give him the payday.Comment

What do you mean how is he ducking? He's asking for 150 mil guaranteed upfront. That's no different than Ducking David by asking for 200 mil. Flat out BS that Bud brings nothing to the table. He brings Turki and p4p king status with the opportunity to claim this era. If he fought charlobthen there's absolutely no excuse for not fighting Bud. Canelo ducking. Why does Canelo need his ppv sales spiked? Tf did Mungia and Berlanga do for his sales? BS talk from a canelo fanboy.
What I did hear from Ginger was that he was open to negotiate with Turki after his fight with Berlanga. Please post a link to Turki claiming that Ginger turned down an offer of $60 mIllion or greater... You claim that Bud brings Turki, well what has Turki offered???
You mention Charlo. Charlo was part of a 3 fight deal Ginger had with PBC. Was Bud with PBC during Ginger's 3 fight deal? NO!
You bring up Munguia and Berlanga. Did Ginger fight them cats to spike PPV sales????? NO! He fought them because they were mandatories and those mandatories paid $40 million each. Is Bud a mandatory? NO!
You call me a fanboy because I state facts??? Silly..... I happen to think Bud is a better boxer and more skilled than Ginger, does that make me a fanboy of Bud???? Ginger has avoided Benavidez, does that make me a fanboy of Benavidez???
Why did Floyd fight Conor??? Wasn't for legacy, it was for the fan base that Conor brought to the table which spiked PPV sales that made Floyd a fortune. We've established that Bud isn't a mandatory nor in the same weight class as Ginger.
What does Bud bring to the table??? Absolutely nothing that benefits Ginger. You say he brings Turki? What substantial amount of money that Ginger doesn't already make fighting mandatories has Turki offered???? He hasn't offered S-hit!
You Say Bud brings his p4p status? if Ginger were to win, his status ain't going up. He's supposed to beat a man 2 weight classes below him. Ginger's status would rise if he beat Benavidez, Bivol, or Beterbiev, not by beating Bud. Bud's the only one who benefits from fighting Ginger, win or lose.
Ginger ain't ducking Bud, but he has ducked Benavidez. Sounds like you're the only fanboy between you and I.Last edited by LarryMerchant'sBottle; 11-06-2024, 11:46 AM.Comment
