Yeah because they haven't really had any stars since Floyd.

Floyd and later PBC Did a lot of damage to the US boxing scene, HBO and Showtime leaving the sport did even more damage.

They used to have this whole system in place where they would be able to rig boxing in their favour, see what happened to the likes of Lomachenko, GGG, Kovalev and others.

But without that system in place it's fair game now and we see the difference.

Desert Turkey now seems to want to bring us boxing back with Dana White so maybe there's hope for the future but the best US boxing has to offer right now are fruity midgets and that's just not enough to sustain on, they need stars at heavyweight as well.

Yep, post-Floyd the biggest star in the sport has not been American. I dont think theres ever been another time in history where thats been the case. The US was pretty much always the centre point of boxing both in terms of having the biggest stars and being the destination where the biggest fights take place.

Definitely on the decline. Many of the stars fans use to have huge discussions about have all disappeared in just the last two years, or at least just looking for money fights. Wilder, Jermall, Jermell, Spence, Thurman, Crawford, etc.

The UK is the only truly big boxing market in Europe.

This is the lowest point I have ever seen boxing interest in America. Only hard-core fans care and even that base is getting disinterested. When boxing started losing the casual fans years ago it died a slow death. It's not coming back.

Boxing has been on the decline in the US for at least the past 25 years now. Boxing's popularity has just not declined in the US but also globally. Which is why the Olympics are pondering on scrapping the sport entirely off their list of competition events.

need big personality to be the American star

                  Mexican-Americans aren’t public speakers

Oscar pulled it off due to movie star handsome looks

I agree with this. There's a lot of potential in the new talent. Props to Top Rank for continually developing new talent - unfortunately, PBC didn't do the same. Fighting once per year is never going to capture the casual audience either.
