Martin has been begging for fights at PBC. Arum offered the Anderson fight so he had to cross the other side of the street. Meanwhile, the heavily-hyped PBC hope Frank Sanchez wanted no part of Charles who has always been available for him. He picked Daniel Martz, the guy who Martin already beat by KO four years ago. How can the hw in the US survive like this? HW used to be the cream of the crop.

Martin is a good fighter but he was poorly managed, so his career never took off. He reminds me of a modern-day Tony Tucker. At this point he is a division gatekeeper.

I always liked Martin more than most, the circumstances of how he won and lost his title forever stained the rest of his career. He almost got King Kong Ortiz out of there before gassing, getting complacent and getting stopped.

I wouldn't mind him being matched with Richard Torrez, Jr but I doubt Ol' Bob sees the Olympian as ready for that jump on competition.
Definitely a man one can get behind as a fan. To me he always had the perpetual demeanor of an underdog, a fighter one bad move away from some of the disasters we witnessed. But he did always try and looked a bit more polished in his later fights.

Alas he does have that big punch... I could see him as a fantastic gatekeeper these next few years.

He likely would have beaten Kownacki if he started fighting back earlier or if it was a 12 round fight. He had Adam gassed and hurt at the end of that one. Nearly had Ortiz out too. I don't think he beats AJ but I do think the big crowd and bright lights of the event likely didn't help his performance.

Jeez that poor kid Kownacki, is he still fighting? They really figured him out, and he lost to the bottom of the division. Initially he had a real approach... I believe he could have done something with it if he had studied a fighter like PitBull, who could show him how to properly apply pressure consistently and not get your head knocked off...
