Even when the doctor looked at him, I could tell he was barely there.

He had zero respect for Mur from the get go. Really ridiculous. If he retires, not the way I wanted to see him go out. He should have been boxing and fighting smart, not trying to prove he could take big shots and win a gunfight in the first round. At least feel the guy out a few rounds. Amateur stuff. No idea why he approached this fight so arrogantly.
I totally agree. I think he should had test the waters in the first round or two, then decide how much risk he could take against Murta. There were so many basic things that he missed, like trying to counter, use his jab, hit and get out, a little bit of head movement and so on.

I think he took a page out of Devin Haney's book, were they tried to be too "macho" and make a point against a lesser opponent "on paper". Ryan supposedly "crazy, mentally ill" which end up being only a trick and in the case of Murta, his Ramadan performance in his last fight.

Tim gets my respect. No excuses, takes his ass whipping like a man, and that's that.

Can he rebuild and fix his flaws? That remains to be seen. He's such a decent guy overall, I am rooting for him.

I had only seen Murt fight twice previous to this and had an initial instinct that he would clobber a damaged man, and I should have stuck with that for the PICK EM' thread. Regardless, I welcome both back to the ring at any time. In Tim's case, later rather than sooner because he needs someone - anyone - to cut through his bravado and lay it on the line, making him a better fighter. Murt, meanwhile, is going to wreck half the division before someone better than Tszyu figures him out. If at all. I can't wait to see who he fights next.

Did you notice in the third round the ring doctor actually got in the ring to examine Tim? I've never seen that they usually just go up on the apron and look at the fighter. PBC trying to give Tim a few extra seconds to revive.

What are the Fundora haters gonna say now? " If ut weren´t for the cut, Tzyu would have beaten Fundora"... it was close but Fundora won.

Papa came when he was needed. He cares, he knew. Kostya is one of those Russians that washes his butt with ice water. He knew Tim was in over his head or he would have stayed at home.

No! That was different because it was protocol for that particular state athletic commission. Due to the incident where a fighter was left in a vegetated state due to the doctor's negligence and dereliction of duty for not ordering him to go to the hospital after a fight where he actually collapsed in the dressing room. However, what happened last not in the state of Florida was very unprecedented.

Just google the case of Magomed Abdusalamov. A fighter who sued the NYSAC for $100 mil for the irreparable and permanent injuries he sustained from a subdural hematoma in a fight against heavyweight boxer Mike Perez.
