Without a doubt, he was careless, and dumb to maximum effect against himself.
This loss will effect him even more than his loss did against Fundora, and I do mean way more effect.
He got rocked, dropped, and mopped, all inside of three rounds (less than 9 minutes), wow that was brutal!

But prior to Barrera fighting Junior Jones, I do think Marco achieved a tad more than Tszyu revisioning his career.

At super flyweight, although Barrera never became a champ there despite being his first division, he beat Carlos Gabriel Salazar (35-4-1) from Argentina, who was two division champion with a record of 35-4-1, Barrera had turned 20 years old for three months.

Then Barrera beat Puerto Rico's two division champion Daniel Jimenez (19-3-1) who was coming off a win over well touted and underrated fighter in Duke McKenzie (33-3), a three-weight (112, 118, and 122) world champion from England who had beat the likes of Rolando Bohol (24-2-2), and Cesar Soto (25-4-2). After losing to Barrera, Jimenez would then climb down to 118 to win a WBO shot against Alfred Kotey despite debuting at super bantamweight.

Then Barrera would beat the IBF champion Frankie Toledo (24-2-1), who had retired Orlando Canizales, while defeating future world champions Clarence "Bones" Adams and Hector Acero Sanchez.

After that Barrera beat Agapito "El Ciclon" Sanchez (17-4-2) from the Dominican Republic, a fighter known for his dirty tactics which even troubled Pacquiao onto a round 6 technical draw from a cut above the eye due to a headbutt. He was nicknamed "Dirty" Sanchez who went to become a WBO Super Bantamweight champion after his loss to barrera, beating the likes of Javier Jauregui and Oscar Larios at their primes, two well touted fighters from Mexico that were trained under Chepo Reynoso, Jauregui knocking out Jose Luis Castillo in two bouts and Larios beating Cesar Soto, Nedal Hussien, Israel Vazquez, Wayne McCullough X2, and Takahiro Ao. Larios also gave Pacquiao a good bout at 130.

Lastly Barrera prior to losing to Jones, had beaten Kennedy Mickinney (28-1), a golden Olympic medalist at Bantamweight and Super Bantamweight world champion that went to beat Junior Jones via TKO.

5 solid champions in their prime is pretty good in that short of a run.
I must admit that I didn't start following Barrera until a buddy of mine took me to see him fight at The Forum against a guy named Espinoza in 94 I believe. My buddy who was an ex pro boxer at the time had also fought at the Forum once, would regularly attend Fight Night at The Forum also took me to see Barrera vs McKinney which was aired on HBO if I remember correctly.

The point I was trying to make is that Tim might be able to make some changes in his fight game to give us a few more exciting fights. He obviously isn't in his early 20s to fight for another decade, but with the right trainer he might be able to fight for another 2-3 years.

Maybe I'm being too hopeful because I happen to like his attitude, but that is my opinion anyhow.

Tank Davis and Canelo cherry pick and are actually skilled defensively and have good chins, so they probably won't suffer the same fate.

Arrogance is not a good character trait.

        Karma is undefeated.
we know Canelo has a legendary chin he has faced real punchers who can fight. Tank we don't know because he won't fight any top guys. I suspect he may have a weak chin and his ppl know this and that why he always fights low level guys. that My OPINION. however that is why guys stay away from top competition in boxing, their ppl know better.

So why is fighting for Turki any different than fighting for anyone else? You constantly bring up this subject. Haymon would love to have unlimited funds so he could totally corner the game. How is that different than Turki offering guys huge money to fight the guys people want to see.

I mean if they start telling fighters to sign the contract or face the sword, Ill totally discount the shiek, lol. But the reaction to him seems just ridiculous to me.

I'll try to answer the bolded. We know that Turki had a hissy fit when Canelo wouldn't meet with him in LA to negotiate a fight with Bud. Canelo told him that he wouldn't discuss a future fight while preparing for the Berlanga fighting would have to wait till after September 14. That upset Turki and he tried insulting Canelo on social media. Turki was also disrespectful towards Canelo's management requesting to meet only with Canelo himself.

I believe Turki also wanted to meet alone with Tim, bypassing Tim's management/negotiating team which is also disrespectful. Tim was smart in not negotiating without his team, despite his defeat last night.

The Tank issue I think stems from Tank stating that Turki would have to offer a couple of high priced vehicles in order to negotiate a fight, which Turki found offensive and decided to black ball Tank.

Bottom line is that Turki is used to everyone in the boxing world genuflecting when he enters a room and gets his feelings hurt and throws a tantrum when he meets boxers that aren't willing to bend to his needs.

I like Crawford, but I cringe when I see him posing for selfies with Turki......

I don't need to know how to spell his name 'cos we are not in Russian class but in a Boxing forum and it requires anyone to at least know a little bit about boxing. Again he was setting up shots, using the right punch selection at the right time and he has a good amateur background. Wilder has none of those things so you comparing Murtaz to Wilder, based on as you said it "throwing wild punches when his opponent is hurt" is reaching and proves you know very little bout boxing. that much is clear.

Listen. If they let in Gatti and they have Porter on the voting block then it's safe to say Deontay is going to get in. Look at my caption. Objective Opinion Only. I wouldn't put him in petsonally but he has the stats.

Sorry about the confusion. I wasn't calling you a loser. That was for that other idiot.
