  • Comments Thread For: Boxing's lack of support for Devin Haney is evidence of a soulless sport

Each sport has its own set of unspoken rules, customs that are not to be violated lest you reveal yourself as a pretender or mere casual fan, but no code requires a morality check like that of boxing. With little regard for the sheer bravery it takes just to climb into the ring, fighters can be criticized for not running straight into the toughest bouts possible, for getting hit too much, for not getting hit enough (because this simply isn't sufficiently entertaining), for not showing a great chin (though this isn't a factor fighters can fully control), for retiring too early, for retiring too late, for giving inconsiderate interviews despite being concussed, and just about anything else you can think of.

If Haney had any other e&j coach not named Conte I believe people would feel differently. We ALL know the history with Conte and how he has historically beaten test on the world stage for his clients. Haney has a personality that doesn’t resonate with the public, his dad doesn’t help his cause and then the conte connection is enough for some of us to honestly not care. I’m all for a clean sport but also a clean sport free of charlatans like conte.

in terms of the result of the fight, even if not dirty Garcia hook made the difference and ostarine didn’t make Haney chinny nor was ostarine responsible for him repeatedly leaving himself open to it. Haney has horrible defense. Clean or not he still loses to Garcia that night. The ostarine positive is the excuse to deflect from the fact he couldn’t block the punch.

The man got pounded harder than Sasha Grey's throat and he wants us all to pretend that we never saw him take that beating. Man up, take the L, no matter what, as you ain't unbeaten as we saw what we saw. crybaby begging for his record to be wiped. Can't wait to see him lose again. Get Gervonta Davis on the case. He'll finish what King Ry started. Nash out - His Excellency

I agree in part but from what some experts are saying about the quantity in Garcias system it was far far below levels to be helpful also I've read that what he was taking helps cut weight.
It doesn't sound like it would of enhanced him.
What I saw in their fight were HUGE MENTAL mistakes made by Haney. His first was NOT BOXING. He, for some reason wanted to KO Garcia. That was weird and really really DUMB.
Everyone knew who the better boxer was but Haney chose to trade with a guy who had KNOCK OUT POWER??. That was a ****** decision. He coule of out boxed Garcia EASILY.
If they do fight again and Haney BOXES him. He will whip him EASILY. He should NEVER exchange with Garcia.

No one likes a crybaby who also happens to be a boring weight bully. The weight bully got bullied and hasn’t stopped crying since.
