Sounds like a fake story. I woke up this morning and saw the news on two different boxing sites and then a few minutes later read updates that Benavidez is fighting Jesse Hart.
Why would they manufacture this BS and then 12 hours later make a different announcement? Surely Morrell did not reject the fight in 12 hours and then they found a new opponent and negotiated a deal.

As someone said before, it could simply be that the fight would be for next year. That’s soon enough. Both these guys just had their debut at 175; both guys didn’t look as good as they did at 168. It’s very possible David wants one more lesser fight before going in against a fighter he knows is risky.
