I've been frustrated by this for years and would have bought a lot more ppv...or at least been happier with the price I paid. A tier system has always been needed and IMHO, a lot of money is left on the table because of it.
I grew up with tapes and cds in a backwater part of Canada. I hated buying most non main****** music for 27.99 a record(sometimes more/less) This had been going on for years and I, like many others began the burning stuff. A band called the mars volta started putting out concept albums(lots of effort for them) for 10 to 12 dollars. It felt like a really fair price and I was more than happy to pay it for the value received.
Sorry for the long post, but this seems like the same thing for me. For the record I would happily pay 8.99 for Alvarez vs berlanga...the real price is disgusting and part of the reason piracy is so prevalent. Ppv these days are mostly worth between 20 and 40 imho and they charge close to 100...braindead way to make the sport more niche.
